The answer to that question, raised in my column a week ago, is in. Last night, President Donald Trump cut a deal with “Chuck and Nancy” for amnesty for 800,000 recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program who came here illegally as youngsters, in return for Democratic votes for more money for border security.
According to preening Minority Leader Pelosi, the agreement contains not a dime for Trump’s Wall, and the “Dreamers” are to be put on a long glide “path to U.S. citizenship.”
Trump denies this is amnesty, and says the Wall comes later.
Fallout? Among the most enthusiastic of Trump backers, disbelief, disillusionment and wonderment at where we go from here.

I wonder if the hat burning was staged by liberal activists to upset and divide people? No legislation was created and passed and signed into law. Many people (and I suspect that they too are activists) are coming here to yell and shout and make little or no sense. Reminds me of the good old days with the recounts and truckloads of printed ballots and judges bought and paid for.

Obviously allowing registered DACA to stay is the usual problem. We allow people in, then amnesty them later. Thus we maintain the incentives. But rounding them up the 800k and deporting is a non-starter. Instead find the ones who didn't register, deport them. Find the ones who have committed (other) crimes, deport them. We get the most bang for the buck that way.
Agreed. A good deal of the work can also involve cracking down on people who sneak in to mooch off of welfare.
Another idea or initiative which I find especially intriguing is having citizens dressed in clothing similar to what Immigration and Customs officials wear and walk around areas where illegals tend to congregate. People in a town in Texas did this a number of years back and found that the illegals in their locale were scared and simply left their town without any violent or belligerent behaviour.
Pat’s economic, pro-American, assessment is on the bullseye. What he doesn’t mention is 90% of the 800000 foreign criminals will vote for the Rat party. If this happens, it is a double win for the Rats.
