Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) has drawn his first Republican challenger, days after allies of President Trump threatened to back a primary challenge in retribution for Corker's critical comments about Trump's ability to govern.   Andy Ogles, the head of the Tennessee chapter of the Charles and David Koch-funded conservative group Americans for Prosperity, kicked off his campaign Thursday. In a statement announcing his bid,

Ogles blasted Republican senators for letting Trump down. "Republicans who promised to govern as conservatives if we would just ‘give them a majority’ are letting us down the most, including our Senators from Tennessee," he said in a statement.

Shame on anyone who believes that the TN leader of Americans for Prosperity would be an improvement, or would support anything but Amnesty.

How sweet would it be to sideline Corker with a Trumper ! What a message would be sent.

I’ll look into this guy later.

I do hope he’s viable and is capable of raising money.

He’s gonna need to be both if he wants to win a primary against a sitting US Senator.

OK TN listen up, 1 and only 1 primary challenger unless TN has the 50% rule.

Yup. We’ve got one of those up in PA named Toomey. He’s better than the alternative, but that’s about it.

Or maybe people in Tennessee can just show how much they don’t like the current guy and vote for his opponent?

Like why do you guys need millions when we assume you all don’t like Corker?

With Koch's backing, I'd say yes...the question is whether he's in it to win it or split the vote.

From a conservative's perspective, viability should not be measured in terms of if the proposed candidate can win, but, if the proposed candidate has conservative policy positions (A.K.A. NO AMNESTY) and can win.

If his group is taking Koch money I highly doubt he’s truly a Trumper

Kochs are globalists, opendborder free traders. One of the biggest reasons Trump was the only one talking about these issues was because everyone else needed money from folks like them....

Open primaries and the usual low information Republican voters.

From Corker to Cock, a distinction without a difference.

It does not. Lamar got by with 49.6% last time. Plurality wins.

This guy sounds like a nobody, all he’ll do is take votes from a strong challenger (should one get it, ie Mark Green).

" the head of the Tennessee chapter of the Charles and David Koch-funded conservative group Americans for Prosperity"

I think that money is the least of the problems.

Conservatives!!! Pick one opponent to Corker, do NOT, I repeat DO NOT give him the primary win by splitting the vote against him.

From Ogles' campaign website.

Immigration
- Build The Wall
- NO Amnesty
- NO Free Tuition
- NO Funding For Sanctuary Cities

Koch are globalist... why do you think no other candidate spoke about this stuff before Trump? Because they needed the big money donors who want open borders and free trade... if this guys made his livelihood with Koch cash, I am beyond skeptical of any claims to support things that history has shown the Koch brothers are against... view him as chicken in the henhouse
