why are we wasting so much money for these experimental, risky and expensive treatments for someone that has a life expectancy of Nil??? Wasn’t that the reason for Obamacare, to give Scum like this a Pill instead??

So we are stuck with him for life?

Yup. His. Hopefully, not ours.

Maybe the chemo and radiation will improve his thinking. We can hope.

In the Senate, who would notice brain cancer.

If the cancer causes him to just spew out random crap, how much worse can it be?

The chemo he’s probably getting is Avastin, which acts on cells over-expressing a vascular growth factor. The main side effect, as I recall, is high blood pressure, so other drugs are given to offset that. Avastin doesn’t have the same debilitating side effects as a toxic chemo does.

Typically it works almost miraculously well during the first round, and the patient may get a sweet spot of a few months during which no treatment is required and the tumor is dormant. When the tumor becomes active again, Avastin probably won’t work another time.

I had a sibling who passed away from Glioblastoma a few years ago, and I was primary care-giver. I would not wish that disease on any human being.

>>(do not) make important decisions but to also do not enter into legal contracts due to their effects on the mental ability of the patient.

Senators don’t real those bills they vote on anyway. They don’t care what details are in it.

That photo is disturbing - McQueeg grinning like a fool and the soon to be murdered ambassador appearing very apprehensive, or more like terrified.

I don’t really think he has a good relationship with his wife. I’ve never seen any love between them.

Sorry to hear about your sibling’s passing. I have offered a prayer for their soul’s repose.

The story doesn't say that he won't be able to discharge his duties as senator. Mark Kirk, the senator who had a stroke took some months to recover and didn't resign (he lost his reelection bid). Claire McCaskill had cancer and went through treatment while she remained in the Senate. Tsongas and Spectre also held on to their seats while they were sick. Nineteenth century senator Charles Sumner was beaten on the Senate floor and spent years in Europe being treated by doctors.

Elections are rolling the dice. They could go well. They could go badly. So usually a sitting senator or congressman holds on to the seat, which could be lost in a snap election.

This just shows the arrogance and smallness of McCain. It is all about him. A decent person would resign knowing that brain cancer can alter ones ability to rationally think things through. But, of course McCain is not a decent person and is so arrogant that he thinks he is better than anyone else, even with brain cancer. He shows every day just how pathetic an individual he really is.

McCain, as usual just can’t do the right thing for the good of his country or for the good of the party. He’s just too afraid that the democrats won’t be able to get their way without him around to help them.

John McCain, you’re just a damn jerk.

My intuition tells me that McCain is dying and GRANDSTANDING at the same time. So be it.

I predict he'll be gone from the Senate before next Spring.

May he rest in peace, but until then I hope his pain matches his intent to do harm to our nation.

I LIKE the way you said that.
