Following an MRI Monday, Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, will continue radiation and chemotherapy as part of his brain cancer treatment, in accordance with the recommendation of his doctors, but he plans to remain in the Senate, according to a statement released by his office.

"Senator McCain received an MRI at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland yesterday," the statement reads. "Following the advice of his doctors, Senator McCain will continue to receive targeted radiation and chemotherapy treatments at NIH while maintaining a regular work schedule in the United States Senate."

Given the quality of our senate, McDork could remain there long after his death.

Senate = Latin for ignorant buttwipe.

This man has dedicated himself to screwing this nation over with his dying breath.

Perhaps it’s sinful of me to say so, likely is, but the man is consummate wickedness personified.

May he rest in peace, but until then I hope his pain matches his intent to do harm to our nation.

NIH? Why not one of his beloved VA hospitals?

They’ll probably administer treatments right there on the main floor.
McPain emphasizes everything that is wrong with the GOPe.
IF he had a modicum of sense, he’d retire, but no. The greed for power is too much for him to overcome. May his days be short and few.

Maybe the damage from the cancer will reverse his thinking and make him conservative?

Ted Kennedy did the same thing.

If he’s continuing to receive “targeted radiation and chemotherapy treatments” and the release doesn’t say anything about his prognosis, chances are it’s dire. This comes from CBS and has to be read like Pravda in the old Soviet Union, where the real news was often conveyed by omission. Indeed, that’s how all the news articles about Teddy Kennedy’s condition had to be read.

“For the sake of his family and his nation, McCain needs to retire and GO AWAY! “

He can’t retire because he is SO important nobody else can do the job. Also, his identity is tied to the job. Everybody bows and scrapes, “Good morning, Senator!” “How are you today, Senator?” If he resigned then the biggest part of his identity would be gone. That is his life. To give up the job is to die. This is why Strom Thurmond refused to retire even though it was obvious to the casual observer that Death was standing behind him with a hand on his shoulder. The GOP begged him to retire so the outgoing Republican governor could appoint a Republican. Strom refused and died a few weeks into the new Democratic governor’s term. He was replaced by a Democrat. That was the easiest senate seat they ever got. All because his ego was too tied to the job and he had zero loyalty to the party. Same as McCain.

At 81, with the aggressive and highly fatal type of brain cancer that he has, best guess is a year to live.

Maybe he will luck out with a new treatment though, because he will get the best that money can buy.

Storm Thunder, as he was called in the 1940s, was succeeded by his preferred candidate, Loveable Lindsey Graham, in January 2003.

What is it with these “public servants” and their desire to cling to power way past their expiration date...

They must think the nation rises and fall on their mere presence...

“Senate” comes from the same root in Latin as “senile”.

Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey held on for years. Hell, he hung on until he was 89, though it was doubtful he really knew where he was most of the last few years.
