Perhaps all these are factors: genetic predispositions, exposures to hormones in the womb, sexual molestation. It’s not necessarily all-or-nothing.

I am not stating an opinion on this article one way or another, but I disagree strongly with your application of the logic here. If someone came up with a food additive that preserves food, but suppressed the fact that the additive might kill 5% or so of the population, would you say, "Yeah but what about the ancient Greeks? They didn't have the food additive and they all died. Obviously the food additive has nothing to do with people dying!"

In fact, homosexuality was not uncommon in most of the ancient "civilized" world.

You were expected to find a nice virgin girl and get as many children on her as you could. You were to keep away from other men's wives and virgin daughters but other then that you were free to have sex with anything you could get to hold still.
