Birth Control and Homosexuality: Unintended Consequences
American Thinker.com ^ | September 11, 2017 | Mike Konrad

In the 1980s, I had a boss who had gotten a masters degree in psychology from New York University. He was a brilliant man; could have been a doctor. He told me a story that explains much of what we see in society today.

It seems that while doing his graduate work in the early 1960s, he had to do research on lab rats, which were given the synthetic hormones used in the then new birth control pills. The results, he told me, showed that the grandchildren of these lab rats would have high rates of homosexual behaviors. From what he told me, the findings were suppressed. Apparently, the powers that be wanted “the pill” to pass muster. What happened to the second generation of rats that followed was of no consequence to them.

Then my boss told me: The first generation of kids born to mothers using the pill have already arrived. But we should expect in another generation a noticeable increase in homosexual behavior, as they would be the second generation. As that was then still in the future, I was shocked.

This was told me in the mid '80s. By his reckoning, we should have seen a societal explosion of homosexuality starting around 2000, and subsequently. And, of course, we have seen such an explosion. His prediction came true.

Now, to many classic conservatives – whether religious or merely social – homosexuality is a choice, something which can be learned and/or unlearned. The problem is: There is a degree of evidence that it may be contrariwise in some individuals.

I invite one to look at this short CBS 60 Minutes documentary about what happens to lab rats treated with sex hormones early on their development.

I don’t buy this. Homosexualists have always been with us, for whatever reasons. Some of the reasons are probably complex beyond our current ability to understand; other reasons seem to have been understood somewhat by honest psychologists in past times.

In the past we didn’t hear so much about or from them, because they had little mainstream support; and they are still a very small minority, regardless of all the women who have used hormonal ‘birth control’ over the past few decades, and even despite the recent ‘popularization’ of homosexuality..

(Even before oral contraceptives became common, there was a nutritionist named Adele Davis, who believed that additions of hormones to livestock feed may have been leading to ‘feminization’ of boys; but again, we have always had homosexualists, regardless of what ‘science’ has introduced to our bloodstreams/diets.)

60 Minutes as a reliable source?

I don’t think so.

I read some where a while ago that long term oral contraceptive use causes a women to be more attracted to feminine males. Any one else know of this?

Homosexuality is imprinted onthe young mind in several ways, none of which is genetic or chemical.

But it isn’t a choice, though to the untrained it could appear so.

I remember being told in college that if you put too many rats in a confined space nature’s answer was to make some turn homosexual to sort of naturally lower the overpopulation.

What is considered an “explosion” of homosexual population? The percentage is small (except in fantasy land/Hollywood).

Testing got better, men didn’t complain about being pussies, and things left off the medical charts were for the best. Next?

We have created a psychological issue not a physical one.

I believe this is true; the inclination, as we see it exhibited, is usually imprinted somehow; and very difficult to overcome. But there may be other influences that we don’t yet understand.

"Testing got better"

As in, they were incapable of measuring the level of testosterone in men's blood back in 1980??? Yeah, right.

Go ahead and deny the fact. We have a physiological issue, you have the psychological one LOL

There are often bisexual behaviors among the lower animals, usually as a result of an imbalance in the social environment.

Konrad Lorenz - often referred to as the ‘father of ethology’ - is an interesting read on this issue.

"...to many classic conservatives – whether religious or merely social – homosexuality is a choice..."

Who the hell knows what 'conservative' means anymore. But I will state what I consider the proper Christian perspective.

Which, to me, is that it does not matter whether you are born with a tendency for this or that sin or whether it is learned. You are not blamed for the temptation. You are rewarded for overcoming it.

Doesn't matter whether it is sexual sin, a tendency to steal, lie, hot temper, whatever. Christians know it is wrong. And are expected to try and overcome it.

Everybody experiences temptations. And everybody falls short sometimes. Nobody is born with a physical inability to resist the physical acts which are prohibited.

Jesus never once said 'spiritually repent... but physically keep doing it if you feel you were born that way.'

He said to repent and sin no more.

It's OK for Christians to acknowledge that selfishness of prior generations have left today's generation with a specific temptational burden unfairly increased. It's not OK to excuse or endorse sinful behavior.

It may help young Christians to consider this added burden as an added opportunity for the rewards of resisting the increasingly polluted flesh.

And as a lesson, that poisonously selfish treatment for the tree of life is bound to produce many dead branches.

How about the ancient Greeks? Their mothers didn’t have the pill.

I am not stating an opinion on this article one way or another, but I disagree strongly with your application of the logic here. If someone came up with a food additive that preserves food, but suppressed the fact that the additive might kill 5% or so of the population, would you say, "Yeah but what about the ancient Greeks? They didn't have the food additive and they all died. Obviously the food additive has nothing to do with people dying!"

I would not be surprised if the findings were true. The constant intake of hormones into a body can not be good. I am sure that in a controlled setting where levels are monitored and each subject is given a dosage tailored to their own particular body chemistry that side effects would be greatly reduced; however, we all know that the pill is pretty much prescribed as a one size fits all.

I also have heard that the pill is behind the increase in breast cancer among women...

Anyway, the author suggests that potential negative findings were omitted from the 'marketing' campaign for the magic pill. It's as if Fake News was a thing? LOL

Well, have any seen the marketing campaign for prepubescent children to get immunized against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV)? -- In the marketing campaign they fail to mention the immunization only covers some strains and as such is not 100% effective. As well, they neglect to mention that HPV is transmitted via sexual activity and as such avoiding sexual activity is 100% effective preventing HPV.

In my opinion, when public and private health service providers sound more like pimps than unbiased experts, it implies they self-servingly push an agenda and or promote an ideology rather than serve the public interest. All information should be presented and people should be able to choose what to do themselves devoid of deceptive coercion by the wannabe elite powers that be....

Sexual sins are no one else’s business and unless there is coercion or
Children involved, who’s to say that your sexual sins aren’t as sinful as a
Gay person’s sexual sins?

This article is about the etiology of Homosexuality. Almost
Everyone by puberty has sexual Attraction to one gender. Including everyone on this thread. You did NOT choose at 11 to have that crush on the girl in homeroom. If you could have chosen, at 11 you might have picked that one guy who always hit home runs and loved to play board games in your basement. More fun than a dumb girl! But your crush was on that girl and you couldn’t do Anything about it.

Pavlov' Rats wererained to "Link Rewards" to Visual Cues. “When a reward is received, ACh is sent throughout the brain and reinforces only those nerve cell connections that were recently active. The process of conditioning continues to strengthen these nerve connections, giving rise to a timed expectation of reward in the brain.”

So these homosexual Grandchildren are Genetically Modified b"rats."

Imagine that we pass laws to prevent off spring of mothers/grand & great-grand mothers based on government available records that are electronically available. I am sure the major drug corporations kept records of those who took their medications.

Now that we know the consequences, we can have a stealth program giving the GM (God) drugs to reverse the homosexuality with hormones.

This article is personally interesting as my youngest sister is a militant homosexual who was on hormone treatments in 7-12th grades. After marrying and having two children, her antisocial tendencies and a lousy husband worked to turn her into a sterotypical female homosexual - ugly to the point no man would touch her thus driven into the confort of others of her ilk. Sorry for the crud annology but this article strikes a chord.

It isn’t about an existing level of homosexual orientation, it is about an drastic increase over and above that background level.

Did Alfred Kinsey have anything to do with this change?
