Police in Claremont, New Hampshire are investigating the alleged hanging of a biracial boy on August 28.
So my son is being flown to Dartmouth after a 14 year old kid decided to hang him from a tree, Cassandra Merlin wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post. I dont care if this was a so called accident or not. My son almost died because of little shit teenage kids. She said her son is okay, and included several pictures of the boys neck.
The childs uncle Lyrik Merlin wrote about it that same day, sharing one of the same images.

Hanged....its hanged. The difference in saying he was hung is important.
So how old is the suspended fellow?
According to the article he is 8 years old.
Proper English for attempted strangulation by rope is hang, hanging, hanged.
I'm hung.
8 years old, according to the article. Young enough to be persuaded to “see what happens if” by teenaged boys, poor little kid. It seems unlikely that it had anything to do with his being “biracial.”
Something definitely did happen. Those are ligature marks around the boys neck. The question is by who?
I can imaging either white or a small group of darker skinned black kids doing this.
Another question is why was an 8 years old boy hanging around with 14 year olds unless he was related to them?
Maybe it’s different now, but in my childhood, 8 year olds, and 14 year olds moved in completely different circles most the time, unless, again the kid was related in some way to one of the older kids. What average Ninth Grader wants to be seen playing around with someone in the Third Grade??
the Third Graders were seen as whining babies by High School Freshmen.
I feel bad for that kid. Being biracial, he gets grief from both sides. I remember Harry, a biracial friend in high school back in the 1960s during the race riots in the cities. He got chased in one direction by black mobs. Other times he got chased the other direction by white mobs (yes, some whites fought back). A couple years after graduating I heard he died in a possible suicide by drowning. He indeed was a good kid, an oreo if you will, no punk behavior in him.
Really, though, they should hang the Law/PR firm for releasing such a potentially inflammatory story on Sunday and the same day as all the Irma coverage.
black kids hanging a mixed kid? That’s what the comment on law newz sound like but not sure
I guess I’m too old for current usage.
I would never say, “As a child, I hanged out with my Dad.”
Munchhausen by proxy?
it involves juveniles, so we will never hear facts or the truth. and what that means is that gossip and hysteria will rule.
It’s actually out of “respect” for human beings, as if we are above regular verb usage.
But this poor kid. I assumed it was a teen at first like HS issues, but a child!
Better critique the post immediately above yours. Really need grammar police this thread.3
Unfortunately, many young blacks are bought up to both hate whites and envy whites, ridicule biracial kids for looking almost white and deeply envy biracial kids for looking almost white. From my observation, this is most obvious in middle to lower income groups of people. Someone is to blame for their predicament of being low on the economic totem pole, and it sure can’t be themselves!
I hear hung, all the time. Usually they say the word well.
>>I would never say, As a child, I hanged out with my Dad.
Probably because he never put a rope around your neck and suspended you from a tree.
