For the same reason it is Ok for a black to call blacks nigg@h or women to call other women h@e and take them to be mutillated to an abortion clinic, or, for a muslim to call a homosexual a effing f@g dog.
Racism, bigotry, homophobia and misogynie are fine then.

A mentally ill man who identifies as a woman and retains heterosexual tendencies of wanting to sleep with women now counts as lesbian, inflating their numbers.
Transgenderism furthers liberal beliefs that there are no differences between men and women, that everyone is equally interchangeable and malleable in any regard .. even if the change is major surgery or cosmetic and wardrobe based.
It is yet another tool by which the far left can attack traditional institutions. You got out of same sex marriages per religious freedom? Well, let’s punish you for criticizing transgenderism, not letting men into your women’s shelter, not letting boys who think they’re girls in the girls’ cabins at church camp. Another way to sue conservative groups into submission.
It is another way to disbar conservative counselors, such as the states that have said to try to convert someone to heterosexuality and now deny transgenderism is a violation of someone’s rights. Don’t agree? You can’t be a licensed counselor, can’t become a public school teacher, etc.
