Dreamers, cops, workers – in Trump era, all but hard criminals deserve ‘sanctuary’ state

Like the America of our ideals, California welcomes newcomers who arrive seeking to build new lives.

Yes, the history of our state’s quest for equality, like that of our nation, is marred by mistakes and aberrations. But as President Donald Trump plays his harsh brand of politics with the children of immigrants who came here illegally, California lawmakers must take a stand by approving Senate Bill 54, legislation that would create what has come to be known as a sanctuary state.

We want kids to go to school, no matter their parents’ immigration status, and seek medical care if they are sick. To solve crimes, local cops need cooperation. People who are undocumented won’t come forward if they risk deportation. We obviously do not sanction serious and violent criminal behavior, but we Californians are a welcoming people, and we care for our neighbors, whether or not their papers would withstand strong scrutiny.

We all know Dreamers. They are our friends, co-workers, classmates and employees. For many of them, America is the only homeland they know.

California should use all available means under the law to protect them from deportation. That includes passing a sensible and defensible version of Senate Bill 54.

When do citizens get theirs?

When can we be free of the burden these people represent?

When can we stop paying tax dollars to support freeloaders from around the world?

When can we expect our nation's laws to be adhered to?

F--k you Sacramento Bee staff.

What part of your private property do you want to sell to reimburse the taxpayers, or support these freeloaders?

Who’s going to want to pay for this? Not the people in the other 49. Be sanctuary on your own dime, California.

California is always looking to be different, distinct, so let’s rename the state: Sanctuary. All world illegals welcome.

Too late, CA already did that, in fact the stooges running the state have already admitted they don’t want Trump supporters, conservatives, middle class families here. They’ve long since made criminals of every description, their top priority.

Next up: Passport control at border stations. You have any conservative sticker on your car means no admittance. But then, who’d want to go to CA in the first place? If I have to do a layover on a flight I stay at the airport motel, don’t even venture out. Do the bar scene at the motel and forget I was ever there.

CA is only concerned with how much money they can loot from the people. This hardly affects the wealthy leftist but chainsaws the budgets of the middle class. They know this. So years ago the state decided to replace their middle class with low wage illegal servants who they pay 1985 wages to. This has been happening in CA for decades leading up to where we are now.

To even consider moving here, one would have to have big $$ and not mind being robbed by punitive sky high taxes, fees, fines, and extreme government regulations and oppression on a daily basis.

I am a native Californian, and your friends are correct, it’s not pretty.
But this is my home, been my family’s home since the 1870”s.
I’ll be damned if I will give it up to some WETBACK GREASER without a fight.
The kind of fight that sends people to the emergency room and to the MORGUE.
