Sounds like what my son says it is like driving a bus in a certain Southwest city. He makes $14/hour, BTW. Don’t know what they make in Detroit, but they aren’t making much above minimum wage is the SW.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that bus drivers in a certain city were making $100K/yr.
Thought it must be a place like Detroit but another Freeper said they make something like $16-18/hr in Dertoit.
You'd be surprised how the downtown area is expanding outwards and changing everything in its path............If I were a young single professional or newly married, I'd invest in a condo or loft downtown in a heartbeat and try to find a vacant lot as close to the downtown area that hasn't already been bought up by investors.........
I had dinner downtown a couple of weeks ago fir the first time in decades. I was totally amazed at its transformation. Upscale bars, restaurants, cafes, designer shops and outlets. Most importantly, people walking around in the evening taking advantage of all the offerings........It was cool!
