He names the attorney, it’s not Wasserman who is one of quite a few working for that office. But it’s the Deep State at work, of which they are ALL part.
They probably have someone else taking the lead just to make it look like there is less of a conflict of interest.

I hear you but don’t assume that because he is not out on the talk shows every night telling the world what is being investigated that nothing is happening. Starting from scratch with a den of Obama snakes for a staff, it’s reasonable that it might take him as much as a year to assemble a team of people he can trust to conduct an investigation against such deeply-rooted Deep State enemies. And even then, it takes time to build a case that won’t be blown away by the first liberal judge who hears about it.
Why else did both the Republicans ,the Democrats, and the "Deep State" support his appointment ?
It is going beyond 'dereliction of duty' or being irresponsible

I think the reason we're seeing what we are is because any real investigation will reveal actual hanged by the neck until dead
Treason committed by our elite politicians. The Iran Deal, for example, is demonstrably treason and was brazenly conducted in public.
We can be fairly certain due to Mr. Sessions's compromised nature: he did commit Treason while in the Senate.
