As most of the nation celebrates the volunteerism so evident in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, a sense of disquiet seems to be afoot among fans of Big Government. People who spontaneously organize impressive responses might make the public feel as though government doesnt have all the answers, and that self-reliance beats waiting for the government to solve their problems. Why, that's troubling.
Something like this mental process must have prompted New Yorker editor David Remnick to greenlight this article, titled, Why does American need the Cajun Navy? Benjamin Wallace-Wells (you already guessed the author would have a hyphenated last name, didnt you?) writes:

A story right up there in significance like Melania’s shoes.
What about her shoes? LOL! Yeah, I know.
Does hyphenation imply faggotry?
Hmmm, wasn’t it big government Brits that ran the Acadians out of Canada to French Louisiana?
Only if it’s a kind of surgery.
Weird huh? Guess a lot of folks are not familiar with the Cajuns and their history.
This Cajun feels sorry that the poor writer has to live in such a cesspool of losers.
We await NYC getting flooded from “global warming sea rise” and look forward to the killing and looting that will assuredly follow.
I always get Remnick mixed up with the son of crazy Susan Sontag. Anyway, the reason volunteers like the Cajun Navy are needed is because they move quickly and without red tape. The lack of common sense among our elites makes them unfit to lead or participate in any conversation on how our country should be run.
New Yorker...... not American
Yes, well, let’s hope people die because of the New Yorker magazine. That makes sense. Did you wish ill on the people on Houston - a city run by Democrats?
Why does America need Benjamin Wallace-Wells, or the “New Yorker?”
America, and particularly its elites, survive and thrive in a system with a nanny-state government run by massive debt in a fiat, printed currency, from which they can skim and support their cronies.
It won’t last
Guess you missed the memo that sea level rise is no longer an issue. Why else would the lyin’ king be lookin’ at buying a $12 or $15 million chunk of waterfront property on Martha’s Vineyard.
More of a beta-male indicator.
How long before some democrat proposes a law banning any non-government group from providing disaster assistance?
Cordially,
The Cajuns and Flyover America
I would ask that my Cajun friends offer to take this New Yorker for a boat ride in the swamp...
