Not sure if this was previously posted but I found it very interesting the states chosen to be under the microscope for this ruling...

I'm not completely familiar with the arguments on both sides, so I'm willing to learn, here.

That said, one hopes beyond hope, that VOTING will get such scrutiny, one day soon!

VERY interesting.

So the states with the highest population of fraud suspects have free skating - while these states, not exactly known for high population of such - are singled out.

Strange, indeed.

But it is good enough to vote!

“Houston, we have a problem,” Apollo 13 transmission when their fuel cells exploded on the way to the moon.

ps
What Houston Control did to recover Apollo 13 was magnificent engineering on the fly for a disaster that had never been anticipated. The men on board Apollo 13 were magnificent. The men on the ground at Houston Control performed a miracle of engineering and ballistic calculations. Houston Control saved those men.

The states refused to join the REALID program established by FedGov. They were granted extensions which are now beginning to expire. I know that MO will start issuing REALID licenses, but I don’t think it requires people to “upgrade” their licenses. I’m sure that further extensions could be granted if the administration cares to.

I never understood the reasoning for the real ID act or how it enhances security for air travel.

Mohammed Atta and his boys were foreigners. Foreigners travel on a foreign issued passport.

So doing anything relating to state drivers licenses in this regard is valueless.

In addition, a number of states are now giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens. So how can anyone’s license be a reliable form of verifying citizenship?

And , even if this is a great idea, why did it take 16 years after 9/11 to get us to this point?? The real ID act was in response to 9/11. If it is such a needed tool to ID people and help security, why wait over a decade to implement it?

A

The MO governor Greitens claims this will be fixed by 2018, but others say he spoke too soon and the administrative fix is not in place (to get new licenses or whatever we need to do).
Clear as mud.

Why not go the Japanese way..?

All people who aren’t citizens MUST carry on their person at all times Foreigner Identity Cards.

It’s simple.

They’re not under a microscope. They’re failing to comply with a 17 year old law. Which is why said law keeps getting put off. Though New York is finally in compliance, so they might not delay anymore.

This cycles up every 6 months or so, the politicians flex their muscles, and another 6 month extension gets granted. Each year, a few more states get on board, but I’ll be somewhat surprised if this ever gets enforced.

Well, chit, that makes my decision not to fly simple.

I thought this crap had been remedied though.

If the feral gubment will not recognize the ID how are you supposed to get a passport?
