There’s been very strong hints by the German Foreign Ministry over the last two months for Germans NOT to travel into Turkey...no one can ensure their safety. Without going to the next step....branding Turkey a dangerous place...they’ve done everything required.
The tit for tat business is pretty limited....because of the EU-deal to hold back refugees in Turkey (that 3-billion Euro a year deal). All of this business is screwing up the Turk-tourism economy big-time.
The immigration issue is a nuclear time bomb for the EU. EU POLs are to blame.
But Erdogan is not compatible with NATO either.
This will end in an all out war for Turkey and somebody, or it will end with Erdogan out. The Kemalist are very unhappy where this is going. Do they have the clout to take Erdogan down? I think Erdogan fears them. He should.
