I like to call him “Walter Mitty”.

two guys walk across the street in front her her, making it obvious that the water was only a few inches deep.

I remember that clearly and got a good laugh out of it. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't one of them carrying a case of beer too?

“Driver” looks at the camera. Hmmmm. Leaves keys in the truck as well as his cowboy hat....

This infuriates me. Why? Because there are so many GOOD people of Texas risking their lives by really rescuing people. THEY should be the ones that are applauded. If someone wants to “get” into the whole rescue idea... then DO it. The reporter can go with the REAL rescuers and really rescue people. Grrrr......

During the 90's CNN showed video and claimed it was Belgrade. I was attending a Serbian Orthodox church with many people who had lived in Belgrade, who said not only was it not Belgrade but the people in it were not speaking Serbian.

I believe CNN later apologized for that one...

Probably true.

Let's face it, when it comes to rescuing, South East Texas is currently a target rich environment. Pretty much anyone with a flat bottom boat and some initiative can become an instant hero to plenty of stranded and waterlogged families.

In the Houston area alone there have to be a couple of hundred thousand people who need rescuing for real, but CNN meterosexual reporters are too cowardly and lazy to go to the dangerous areas where people are at risk because they might break a fingernail.

So they gotta fake it.

Contemptible.

Thanks for this other link. VERY obvious it is the same reporter guy. He managed to change into his super hero clothes behind the handicap sign, pull a guy to safety and hold onto his live mic all at the same time.

The “victim” had on one shoe and then no shoes. Why was he out riding around when he said he was staying at the hotel up the street?

That clip never made sense from the get go.
They truck was on a fairly clear road and driving slowly. It did not spin or hydroplane but rather was steered directly towards a ditch. Why would someone do that?

Sane drivers know that if you see a wider swath of water running along side the road but not on the road or the land on the other side, that’s a ditch. You don’t steer into a ditch unless maybe you have a monster truck or something that can traverse it.

Even if it was a mistaken turn, the guy could easily get out of the truck and make it to land a few feet away ... unless he was disabled in some way. It didn’t look like the man was disabled.

I knew it. Didn’t need the evidence, but sure is nice to see them caught.

Before Harvey hit, the CNN, FOX and the Weather Channel reporters were reporting horrendous SIX INCH waves tearing up the shore. They were bracing themselves as if high winds were going to sweep them away at any second but the people behind them were walking along just fine and palm trees were barely waving. They were on the beach in Galveston talking about flooding already when if you can still see any beach at all it is perfectly fine because the seawall is behind the beach. The first night, again before anything major hit, the Weather Channel guy was standing in knee high water but then the camera panned just a wee bit showing dry land.

BTW, the Brazos River is pronounced as the “bra” in brat rather than bravo. You’d think they’d buy a clue when they interview locals who pronounce it correctly but the msm prove they don’t really listen to anyone but their own egos.

It is maddening when they have rescue helicopters with reporters and their camera guys taking up valuable space.

I noticed that, too.

Didn’t seem to care much about the F150. F150 couldn’t hack it. Then a new Silverado comes out of nowhere to whisk him away. Real people. Not actors. Hmmmm...

A David Copperfield (Magician) moment:

In the pic, captioned “Brings a Mic To Save a Life,” just below the video, the victim seems to be wearing shorts and the reporter long pants. Maybe they miraculously or magically switched during the rescue.

[Can’t tell what footwear the victim and the reporter are wearing.]

[In the video, the way the pickup turned into the stream seemed awkward. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn the whole incident was a set-up. I trust very little from the fake-news media.]

I am not sure, which is why I put a question mark after the title. A third CNN guy could have been the guy running around the structure in shorts, who also had on a red jacket.

I am coming to believe it is real. I think there is another guy in CNN red jacket wearing the shorts in addition to the reporter on camera.

Perhaps it is real. I didn’t analyze the video. However, as I casually watched it, I immediately dismissed it as fake.
More of a commentary on CNN in general.
