Federal Judge Blocks Enforcement of Texas' Sanctuary Cities Law Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 | Updated 8:05 PM CDT Photo Credit: NBC 5 News A federal judge has temporarily blocked most of Texas' tough new "sanctuary cities" law allowing police to inquire about people's immigration status during routine interactions such as traffic stops. Opponents call the measure, which sailed through the Republican-controlled Legislature, a "show your papers" law. They sued, and the ruling by U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia in San Antonio keeps it from taking effect Friday, allowing the case time to proceed. Texas Schools Shuttered by Harvey Could Stay That Way Awhile Conservatives say the crackdown on illegal immigration enforces the rule of law. Under the law, Texas could fine police and counties that don't honor federal requests to hold people jailed on nonimmigration offenses longer for possible deportation. It also ensures that police chiefs and sheriffs could face removal from office and criminal charges for not complying with federal "detainer" requests.

Whilly Clintoon Appointee....What a surprise.
I thought all the federal judges were busy running the new transgender military.
This “judge” needs to be incarcerated without bail awaiting trial.
We have been invaded.
The courts have been thoroughly ‘packed’ with Deep State Judges.
When will the people of America demand a return to:
Congress writes laws
The Executive Branch manages in accordance with the Constitution and these laws
The Supreme Court rules on the Constitutionality of laws enacted by Congress
How on earth did we get to the point where 1,770 petty tyrants known as “Federal Judges” can usurp the Constitutional functions of State Legislatures, State Voter referenda, the US Congress and the President of the United States?

“This judge needs to be incarcerated without bail awaiting trial.”
Under the Constitution, GOP House and Senate have the power to impeach and remove any federal judge, including Supreme Court justices. Their failure to hold judges accountable for upholding the Constitution demonstrates they are complicit with the rulings of these leftist judges who believe in the “living” Constitution as interpreted by the judiciary.
I think I read somewhere that sixty or seventy per cent of the members of Congress are attorneys.
Rats tend to pack together.
then get rid of lawyers.
too simplistic? or common sense?
The theory of law is dominated by two lawyers of the 20th century.
One was Carl Schmidt (legal architect of NAZI Germany) and a
Soviet ‘legal expert’ whose most important work was written
sometime in the 1950s. (No I can’t pronounce or spell his
name)
When American law is based on the ideas of such people, what
does anyone expect?
This BS “Show me your papers”,how Hitleresque! Everything we do in this country demands ID. As a matter of fact,go to Canada:show me your papers;go to Mexico, you damn well better have your papers if asked. Go anywhere in the world:show me your papers. This country is not founded on Anarchy and should not be some third world dumping ground where American citizens have to pay for illegally inhabiting colonists as they wipe their ass with the Constitution giving us the finger. These Judges need to go swinging on the tree.
When is someone going to grow a pair and tell these judges to try to enforce their rulings? Simply say “The federal government has no authority to tell us what to do in our in cities.
“I think I read somewhere that sixty or seventy per cent of the members of Congress are attorneys.”
Unfortunately, if attorneys were forbidden to hold public office, the legislature would likely be filled with academics, social justice warriors, and heads of leftist non-profit foundations and groups. It is very difficult for average citizens to leave a paying job to run for office, much less find funding for the campaign.
