As Hurricane Harvey approached Texas late last week, one cab driver picked up an unusual passenger apparently seeking shelter from the storm.

William Bruso posted a video of a hawk who landed in his vehicle.
That initial video was followed by several updates on the birds condition and behavior.
And this was before the storm hit, right? That is really bizarre, and he doesn’t look scared, more like shocked. The only time I’ve seen that happen is when a bird flies into a window and is stunned, but I assume this one didn’t.

Update: Harvey the Hawk has gone to rehab
HuffPo tried to interview the guy but he turned them down. He apparently likes hawks over vultures.
Was following the first story on Twitter. Yay for Sgt Harvey the Hawk!!!
Last week my wife and I spotted an extremely large bird in back yard. It was about 95 degrees and he was stationary. I got to within 20 feet before he flew off. This dude was about 24 inches in height!
When he flew off, it became apparent he has a small squirrel in his grip. That was why he was just hanging out there. He was able to fly off with the prey.
Unusual to get so close. Got some good fotos!
That’s a young hawk, it still has vertical teardrop spots on its breast. When they mature they get reddish banding instead.
Cooper’s or more likely Sharpshin hawk [they are hard to tell apart], fledged this year and now on its own or with nearby siblings, at this time of year the siblings are just starting to venture apart to hunt and are going to be underweight from lack of experience.
they prey on songbirds and doves visiting feeders, mostly.
Cool, vid says he’s a Cooper’s ... a little bigger than a sharpie.
First saw about him here

But glad to see it verified and filmed!
It sounds like some sort of raptor, especially at that size. Have you been able to identify it yet?
Had it not flown off at 20 feet distant, I might have advanced another 10 feet, but I don't think I would have gotten closer. Fierce, powerful bird.
This guy is good at making Videos. Rush talked about him today for being a target of the moonbats for having a VA battle flag.
It was determined the bird was injured and could not fly later on by TWRC.
This gentleman does a good job. Kudos to a nice story amidst such a dire situation.
NB: STRONG LANGUAGE
That's what my wife keeps telling me. I tell her to shaddup and bring me another beer, and make me a sammich since the fridge door is open.
Filthy, stinking Hawks relieving themselves in cabs.
That’s why I don’t pick them up when I see one hitchhiking.
That was fascinating! Thanks for posting.
Typical leftard, everything has to be a political hatefest.
These sissies are more worried about a flag than a living hawk.
So much for “black pride”, nothing prideful about being an ignorant kneejerk wussy.
