Next they’ll want to rename Grant’s Tomb because he once owned slaves.

Can anything be named in anyone’s honor anymore?

Carried to its conclusion, everyone has something objectionable to someone in their history.

Even someone such as Martin Luther King, whom liberals revere, has objectionable behavior and positions. He opposed homosexuality, and cheated on his wife. So there.

What are the criteria by which anyone can be set up as a figure to be honored?

If we are saying that all historic figures needed to have had a 21st century politically correct conscience and worldview and did not say or do anything in their lives which violated 21st century political correctness, then clearly nobody can be honored in any way.

He’s actually from Ohio. Why wasn’t he buried there?

1 slave, to hear Dinesh D'Souza tell it. He claims in the movie Hillary's America that at the time of the Civil War, all 4 million slaves in the US were owned by Democrats. After much searching, it was brought up to him that Grant owned a slave, one who was inherited on Grant's wife's side and while Grant was himself yet a Democrat.
