David Mamet, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, once noted I look back on my liberal political beliefs with a sort of wonder as another exercise in self-involvement rewarding myself for some superiority I could not logically describe
At the age of 60 he meet first conservative thinker. Upon closer examination he discovered that most conservative thoughts were based on real-world facts while Liberalism is a religion. Its tenets cannot be proved, its capacity for waste and destruction demonstrated. But it affords a feeling of spiritual rectitude at little or no cost.
Sadly, he captures the reality and emotional allure of modern liberalism.

Yes, and it’s not about statues. The intention is to destroy all the icons of this country, its history, and to destroy the country completely.
F*ck the left!
The monuments the left truly wants to destroy arent made of stone, bronze, or marble.
Theyre fragile ideas penned upon fragile bits of parchment.
And if the men who penned those fragile ideas are invalidated then it only follows that the ideas they promoted should also be invalidated.
Of course I refer to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America.
Will they try to prevent reruns of The Jeffersons from being aired?
To the Left, there are no “statues of limitation” on racism
Yep, liberalism is all about how something makes you feel. Results and logic have no bearing on anything a liberal thinks. The see economic inequality as bad so they think that socialism is good, despite the fact that it only makes everyone equally poor and miserable (except the ruling class). They think that a college education is too expensive so they want it “free”, never once asking who is going to pay for all the infrastructure, the salaries, maintenance, power bills, etc. They think they have a right to healthcare but don’t realizing that no one has the right to money earned by another. That is slavery.
“Liberalism is a religion. Its tenets cannot be proved, its capacity for waste and destruction demonstrated. But it affords a feeling of spiritual rectitude at little or no cost.
Sometimes, someone writes or says something and it tops you in your tracks and you think “My god, that’s it!” That’s exactly what Mamet did in two short sentences.
Truer words have never been spoken.
My worry is that this destruction will eventually be accepted as normal. The Left wants to destroy Confederate statues, Christopher Columbus statues, etc. We are outraged.
But the Left controls the narrative. So our children will not be outraged. They will wonder why any Confederate statues still stand.
The fallacy of their thought process is that success in this endeavor would ensure their own destruction. As a weak minority, their very survival depends on the more powerful majority respecting the very constitution they would like to destroy
Conservatives think
Liberals feel
You can hear it when they speak
The removal of confederate statues is just a device to assert the power of the leftists and anarchists over our gutless bureaucrats and elected politicians.
Now that they have seen that 95% of the republicans and conservatives don’t have the guts to stand up to them there is nothing to stop them from escalating their demands.
By the time people start to see that President Trump is correct it will be too late to save our culture.
True.
“... at little or no cost “, he describes.
That’s just what happened to Islam. They came to a point where they had 2 paths from which to choose; the path where everything that happens is allah’s will, or the path of REASON/LOGIC. Guess which one they chose.
Yep. The Royal African Company.
Time for NY and NYC to dump its name.
