President Donald Trump criticized Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan as Congress faces another round of debt ceiling politics.
Trump revealed that he requested both leaders to put the debt ceiling legislation into the Veterans Affairs Bill so that it would pass easily, but said they didnt listen.
They didnt do it so now we have a big deal with Dems holding them up (as usual) on Debt Ceiling approval, Trump wrote on Twitter. Could have been so easy-now a mess!
McConnell said in a speech on Monday that there was zero chance that Congress would fail to raise the debt ceiling.
Americas not going to default, he said. And well get the job done in conjunction with the Secretary of the Treasury.
Trumps remarks on Twitter followed a White House statement of unity with McConnell on their shared agenda on Wednesday.

Trump was warned that McConnell would be his biggest problem.
Ditch and PRyno are too busy attacking Trump to do their jobs.
I like Buffet’s idea: Any member of Congress who votes for a budget that produces a deficit of 3% or more of spending cannot run for re-election. As it is now, they have carte blanche to spend our money to get re-elected. Free cell phones for deadbeats...really? ‘Splain the logic behind that to me, Lucy.

And if @POTUS wont disband the Election Integrity Commission, @SenateDems will try to do it on a must-pass bill in September. "

Here is why it’s a mess:

Each bill and appropriation should stand alone.
The swamp believes their ‘job,’ is burying the US ever deeper under a mass of debt. It would never occurr to them that their job would be to get the budget under control, and stop runaway deficit spending.
Like every gubment in the country, the more money they get the more they spend that they don’t have.
Politicians, in league with the devil and public enemy #1.

Good thought. But it would require a Constitutional Amendment.
Can be addressed at the convention of the states. The swap will never vote for it.
It is now very easy to see why we nominated and elected President Trump.
the GOP is part of the problem, and it has no solutions.
Sadly, even though Democrats are the minority in both houses, they have a better chance of getting that in the bill than anything the Republicans promised.
But seriously, I can’t believe Trump is whining about this. He surely understands the brinkmanship game allowing both parties to divest themselves of any responsibility while spending the country into oblivion.
Once again I will ask.....
Why do we even HAVE a debt ceiling?
CONgre$$ ? a Me$$.. NoooooOoo..
all those wasted illegal votes..
and now this ‘revelation’.
It is now very easy to see why we nominated and elected President Trump.

Correct. Just like a real swamp of stagnant water, the congress is a legislative swamp that has done virtually nothing in eight long months.
Trump is doing exactly what we elected him to do: expose the Swamp for what it is and put pressure on the do-nothing Republicans to enact the agenda the American people voted for.
Holding sick veterans hostage to a debt ceiling political battle with Dems sounds like less than a perfect idea.
Republicans didn't want to put Dems on the high ground on Vets health care as an issue.
“Sadly, even though Democrats are the minority in both houses”

But they are the de facto majority because Republicans allow them to continue to run the show.
