I’ve been avoiding the news lately because it pains me to see my beloved country so divided, with people so bitterly angry at each other. All the shouting, violence, and destruction of historical monuments have only brought up a feeling of déjà vu.
America is clearly undergoing a Cultural Revolution that is eerily similar to Mao’s Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution which took place in China in the 1960s. Maybe Karl Marx was right after all when he declared that “History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.”

What is going on (not just here but world wide) is what I call The Hinge Of History (links provided on request). What is going on is the world/human society is in the midst of major changes, driven by that little silicon chip. Some will be good, some will be bad.
Yes, a very good comparison. If allowed to do so, the current “Maoists” would start their own body count as they did in China. They have their little Red Books ready for distribution.

Just had this conversation with friend.
I told her to revisit history, particularly the Cultural Revolution under Mao.
They scream fascist, nationalist, etc. at us...yet they do not understand it is themselves they describe.
America. The United States is done for. History shows that once this starts, it doesn’t stop at this stage. And once their through...if any come rescue us from ourselves, we will never ever be a Republic again.
While we see the light at the end of the tunnel...we’re trapped in the tunnel.
Pick up Eric Hoffer’s True Believer book from 1951. It details precisely how you run a ‘herd’ of believers through, and get some mass movement generated. Eisenhower made every member of his inner staff read the book. Explains in simple detail how this all works.
Hoffer points out one key detail....all of these have a particular window of existence, and then they all end up losing steam eventually.

Angry at each other???
The only visible ‘anger’ I’ve seen, so far, are the rioters.
Nothing says ‘change’ and ‘hope’ like looting and rioting.
Going beyond the current situation, the problem is the polarization between left and right. That’s going to take longer to heal. The Constitution is a brilliant document, and I remain hopeful that we will adhere to its tenants.
