A supermarket in Germany has made a controversial point by removing all foreign products from its shelves.
The Edeka supermarket in Hamburg said that it wanted to confront racism with their own narrow-minded views and for a day sold German-only products.
On the shelves they had messages such as this shelf is quite boring without vaiety while the salad bar had a sign saying our selection knows borders today and the cheese counter said so empty is a shelf without foreigners.
That meant there were no Spanish tomatoes, olives from Greece and an all but empty cheese counter.

shelves look more well stocked as they would at the refugees’ own hell-hole local ‘markets’..
matter of fact, Venezuelans would be thrilled to find some of those articles..
Agree. And I hope their Getman customers leave thinking “It’s time we made much more of our own stuff!” That would be a fine unintended consequence for the proggie store owner (who should know to leave politics and religion alone in a general populace business).
The supermarket needs buyers able to find more in-country suppliers.
"Finest in the district!"
"Explain the logic underlying that conclusion, please."
"Well, it's so clean, sir!"
"It's certainly uncontaminated by cheese..."
at every turn we should reprise Laura Ingraham’s most famous suggestion,
“Shut up and Sing” (to politically ‘astute’ rockers)
Shut up and make a movie (to politically meddling actors)
Shut up and Sell! (to the damn German supermarket)
Shut up and Protect the People! (to gov and mayor of Charlottesvlle, VA)
Haha! Cool!
Ah, Monty Python. :)
Like why can’t we have German olives, etc?
I was more than a little worried a can of olives was going to scream alla alkabar just before mowing people down with a van.
Stupid illogical fruit cakes.
Counter protest by showing the store what a store without German shoppers looks like.
Do they have any rules about what groceries are allowed in their store.
Olives don’t drive trucks in to crowds.
They were making NO point at all about “racism”.
They were making a point about “free trade”.
Let’s see, according to this picture Germany basically imports most of it’s food . . . hmm.
Since the Germans are the biggest beneficiaries of the Euro (if each country still had their own currency Germany’s would be the least competitive, so they get the benefit of the blended Euro economic performance) why wouldn’t the Greeks, Spaniards, etc., decide to make a point and withhold food exports to Germany in exchange for debt relief?
Not a good idea to publicize your weaknesses . . .
I don’t know what that shelf usually holds, but it smells funny. Most of the products I buy are made locally in Germany - maybe they removed all the German products by mistake and left the imported goods...
The supermarket must think there is such a place a utopia.
Germans love this kind of simplistic, preachy moralizing .
That’s what my Texas HEB grocery store looks like on a regular basis.
Actually, the Germans should view it as a good thing. They’re supporting local business and they don’t have to worry about Mexican illegals wiping their butts on the produce. Nor do they have to worry about Chinese chemicals killing their pets and kids.
