When faced with tyranny some men bow down and lick the hands that feed them. And some don't. Yeah, I know the poetic, philosophical quotes too.
But really, we in the USA don't have a clue what real tyranny feels like.
..at what point, if any, would you resist an overbearing Federal government? I'd be very interested in hearing your answer to that question.
I can't answer that question for a whole nation. Neither can you. But when you need to resist, you should do it in court. Real people do that, and sometimes they win.
I believe, in this case, their response was an overreaction. I don't believe we're at the point where we need to go to war.

What? Founding Fathers went to war for suffering less than 1% of the current abuses.

The family's land and livelihood were being unjustly taken from them and their ability to resist in the courts was being stolen from them. That is tyranny. Real tyranny. In a nation where the rule of law was observed - even by the Federal government - the Bundy's cattle (their livelihood) would not have been stolen from them while their case was still being decided in the courts. The Feds did not like the way the case was going and so resorted to outright force which is real tyranny.

I didn't ask you to answer for the whole nation. I asked you to answer for yourself - which you neglected to do. Big surprise there.

Their ability to resist in court was being stolen from them until their neighbors put a stop to it. The Federal government uses bankruptcy as a weapon all the time. What happened when your father went up against the Feds? Bank account was frozen first thing, wasn't it?

But really, we in the USA don't have a clue what real tyranny feels like. Just ask the 100+ ranchers that were driven out of business by this government operation. Only the Bundy's had the stamina to hold out. If you knew what you were talking about, you would know that it was initially done to protect a tortoise that ironically can't survive without cow sh@t.
Is there something you fear, maybe like losing your job if Americans were free from tyranny?
