If there is more opposition to the war, however, activist Cindy Sheehan fears it will be only because of who occupies the presidency.
"If Trump announces that there will be a continued U.S. military presence or an increased presence, I am afraid any opposition from the ‘left' will only be anti-Trump, because, of course, Obama escalated in Afghanistan and maintained that illegal war for the entire eight years of his presidency with not a peep from those same pro-DNC forces," said Sheehan, who authored a book calling Obama "an award winning war criminal."

Yup, its like the Cambodia situation in Vietnam.
Problem with Afghanistan and Iraq is that it's not simply fighting that country. It's against the entire resources of the muslim world.
Assuming the press reports that status quo or slight increase in troops is correct I can only say WTF! We all know that US forces could win a conventional war there if necessary but we also know that politically it would be suicide. Given the inevitable engagement restrictions that would be in place the prospects of success would be dubious for any other approach, including this one. Politically he already has cover to bring the troops home as Obozo already basically gave the country back to the Taliban so this is the perfect time to withdraw. Some say that doing so would turn the country over to the terrorists but aren’t they already? To me there’s nothing over there worth one more American life. Why spend more blood and treasure to retake ground Obozo have away? By the way, I’m a USAF vet and Avid Trump supporter until now.
