Poll: Mitch McConnell’s Kentucky Approval Rating Plummets to 18 Percent (Trump 60 in KY)
Breitbart ^ | August 21,2017 | Ben Kew

The approval rating of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has plummeted to just 18 percent, a survey from Public Policy Polling has found.

The poll, which surveyed 645 Kentucky voters, found that just 18 percent of respondents approved of McConnell’s current performance, compared to 74 percent who disapproved. Seven percent of people said they were not sure.

McConnell, who is the longest-serving U.S. Senator in Kentucky history, having represented the state since 1984, was recently criticized by President Trump for failing to pass the healthcare reform bill through the Senate.

“Can you believe that Mitch McConnell who has screamed Repeal & Replace for 7 years, couldn’t get it done,” Trump wrote on Twitter earlier this month. “Mitch, get back to work and put Repeal & Replace, Tax Reform & Cuts and a great Infrastructure Bill on my desk for signing.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has a far higher approval rating of 39 percent, although he still holds a high disapproval rating of 47 percent.

Voters in Kentucky also have a far higher opinion of Trump’s job in office, giving him a 60 percent approval rating. In last year’s presidential election, Trump carried the state by 62.5 against Hillary Clinton’s 32.7 percent.

Oh yeah, McConnell did not want Matt Bevin to be the governor. McConnell’s a grudge holder and an establishment prick.

Mitch opened his mouth the other day in Kentucky and blasted Trump. This is what he gets for going against the wishes of the people.

What happened to McConnell is unfortunately what happens to many GOP members of Congress. They come in with greats ideas and great resolve - but are battered and marginalized by the establishment.

There have been exceptions (om Coburn and Jim DeMint come to mind) but many follow the lead of the long-term leaders in the GOP.

You don’t follow the line and you find yourself stuck on committees that are not your level of expertise and you find that PAC money is harder to find. You don’t get invited to the rights parties and right receptions. Though we may scoff at that, being included and with the in crowd is how things get done.

I believe that term limits are as valuable a tool as they were back in 1994 when the “Contract For America” was introduced. However, the courts have ruled against them and nowadays no one running for Congress says “I’ll restrict myself to 5 terms in the House and then I’m going home”.

It’s enough to get a guy down in the dumps.

The senator who has the highest approval ratings from constituents is Leaky Leahy. Jeff Flake(the future ex-senator from Arizona) has an 18% approval rating. I’m looking forward to kicking his @ss in 2018.

The idiot GOP thinks its because of the monument controversy. Tone deaf morons. They better start worrying about their base instead of trying to go to cocktail parties.

They could have had Sen. Matt Bevin..........

But, but, but...CPAC gave Mitch a rifle! He promised us he wouldn't let us down!

(BTW, I wonder which dumpster Mitch tossed the rifle after the convention)

Per Google search: "I have a lot of confidence in Bob Mueller. I think it was a good choice," McConnell told reporters, one day after reports emerged that Trump might be considering firing Mueller.

We all know what a sham the Mueller investigation is and this (bleep) thinks he was a good choice. It's pretty obvious McConnell is covering for all the DC establishment's bad deeds by obstructing true justice.

McConnell along with the rest of the GOPe leadership belongs in jail along with their pal, Hillary, and all her cronies.

This is happening across the entire country. I used to post warnings to the Democrat Party that they were self-destructing....no more...I just let them waste themselves away. When they say they plan to bring back Barack Hussein Obama to put real muscle into the Democrat machine...I say....bravo, be my guest.

As for Mitch McConnell, he is as good as gone, unless he gets into gear with the Trump program. Steve Bannon and Breitbart will make mincemeat of deadbeat, McConnell. McConnell will get a real awakening when Luther Strange gets destroyed by Judge Moore in the Alabama September runoff election.

McConnell figures the fix is in for his next election.
I hope things turn out the same for him when Clinton thought the same thing.
