(Superman) Donald Trump looked at the eclipse without glasses
EW ^

Even President Donald Trump couldn’t help but look to the sky on Monday to view the first total solar eclipse since 1979.

Stepping out on the Truman balcony at the White House with his wife, Melania, and son Barron, Trump initially tried to look at the eclipse without protective lenses. In a live video posted to the official White House YouTube channel, an aide can be heard yelling, “Don’t look.”

Clark Kent uses glasses. Superman does not. That’s how we know they are not the same guy.

From reddit:

The President is so high energy, the sun needs glasses to look at him...

Not too smart to do that. If one must look without the glasses or any equipment look at a reflection of the sun. Even that is pretty intense.

Wait for it - the press will be accusing him of ignoring warnings and causing children to risk going blind by following his lead.

Leftists are already saying he’s anti-science because of this.

Haven’t seen the kids endangered angle, but sure they’ll have those talking heads ready for primetime CNN.

I saw him with the solar glasses on while watching live coverage of the eclipse on tv. It was only a partial one where I live and on top of that it was cloudy so a big non event for me. I did enjoy watching it live on TV especially the coverage in Wyoming with the mountains as the backdrop. It was beautiful.

In Texas, if the Eclipse! Eclipse! Eclipse! hadn’t bombarded us 24/7, we wouldn’t have known there was one. Nice bright sunshine. Nothing to look at.

While you’re right, it was still neat to see through the glasses, looked like a crescent moon. 2024 though, and totality goes right over where I live.

I think the problem would be if one ‘stared’ at it.

Same as with an arc welder. Look away fast enough and all you might have a a few spots for a while.

I peeked, too.

He didn’t want a foolish photo of himself, wearing 1950’s style 3D glasses

Seriously, Trump knows what the media can, and will, do with anything you give them.

total eclipse here for over 2 mins(SC).. the really cool thing I didn’t expect was when there was just a sliver of sunlight on each side of the aurora the light was as bright as a welding torch and the rays seemed to jut out towards the ground much farther than the rays for most of the eclipse.. there was no way you could look at the sun without eclipse glasses even if you wanted to until the shadow moved a bit farther away

I looked at the eclipse without glasses, and here is how. For a brief moment, the sun was covered with clouds, so much so that its luminosity, at my eyes, was such that I could look at it directly without any difficulty what so ever. So I got to see the eclipse that way for about a second, thats all that was needed.

I frequently do this with the sun, when it is shrouded by clouds, its an amazing view. And for the brief amount of time, it aint gonna hurtcha.

People act as if an Eclipse made the sun STRONGER, it doesnt.

Watched the (here in coastal NC partial eclipse) in my boat out in the sound—biggest thing I noticed is that as the eclipse started all the birds disappeared from sight. They returned as the moon receded.
