When the leftists at the Washington Post start offering relationship advice, a Republican knows he could be on the cusp of something big. A recent WaPost headline warned, "Trump's baffling attacks on McConnell could be costly to the president."
"Cost" here is mainly a function of how often Trump is hoping to eat in the Senate's invitation-only dining room. Otherwise what's "baffling" is how long it took the notoriously impatient Trump to sound off. Trump's marriage of convenience with "legislative mastermind" Mitch McConnell - Curator of the Senate - has produced less than his relationship with Vladimir Putin.
After six months McConnell has failed to repeal Obamacare, failed to fund the wall, failed to reform the tax code, refused to return the Senate to pre-1970 filibuster rules and dismissed out of hand debating the one change that would do more to correct what's wrong with Congress than any other: Term Limits.
The real risk to Trump and any hope he has for accomplishments in his first term is the status quo.
Currently Trump has achieved the unthinkable: Bipartisan cooperation in Congress. Republicans are blocking what Trump wants to do and Democrats are blocking what Trump wants to do.

The only thing baffling is why he still has the gloves on! Drain the swamp. It is not easy.
Corker has not committed to running. Hatch has but if he can read the tea leaves he should retire. Flake has shown that he really shouldn’t run. Heller ‘could’ run for Governor.
Save us money.
These testicularly-challenged RINOcrats should be mocked and ridiculed during their re-election campaign for the gutless cowards and disgrace to America that they are for failing to overturn Traitorobamacare.
It is hoped there will be patriots running in the GOP primaries to replace these cowardly maggots.
Why?, get some people to run against them, then bust them out. Screw em.
Currently Trump has achieved the unthinkable: Bipartisan cooperation in Congress!
Republicans are blocking what Trump wants to do and Democrats are blocking what Trump wants to do.
Faux News and the GOPe are thrilled Bannon is gone and that Trump is going to “move to the center,” i.e.: Do what the GOPe tells him to do and drop the wall, repeal and replace, etc., etc.
Steve Bannon will lead the primary fights we so badly need to clear out the Republican Establishment RINOS & Never Trumpers and, replace with Trump conservatives. Stay tuned, the Trump train is roaring down the tracks. Steve, don’t waste your time on Democrats...they are doing an outstanding job of killing themselves politically.
Trump is already supporting Strange in Alabama.
And put ALL politicians and their families and staff members on obamacare. Even the retired ones. Then, listen to ‘em squeal!
Mitch the bitchin’ turtle has made himself perfectly clear if you can read lips. HE is not about to help the Nation nor WTP of the Nation. If he can continue to ‘help himself’ he’ll be more than willingly to go the extra mile to do so.
Hatch should have retired 8 years ago when he attempted to stop a fed-up constituent from leaving his town hall meeting. He failed to do even that small task.
A more whimpy little bas+ard is hard to find.
Corker is a little pig at the big through. Regular feeding is all he seeks. Corker is a porker!
.
I'm afraid we will end up having to "hold our noses" and vote for the lesser of evils in 2018. If you stay home and let a dem win a seat by default, mark my words they will be emboldened and make a concerted effort to remove (STAGE A COUP!) President Trump!
BUMP! Especially the emphasized part.
McConnell is the reason we, in Washington State, have Patty Murray as a Senator. Why? He would fund her Republican rival back in ‘91 and ‘92.
Vote out McConnells’ stooges in the primaries then Schumers stooges in the General election.
Just WHO is going to go after Hatch? I can’t see Mia Love upsetting the apple cart. Right now I’d even settle for Chavettz. That’s how bad I want Hatch outta there. Corker? Gag me with a spoon.
