It's ugly, sad and frustrating to have one's tolerance tested by the intolerant, but it's not much different than what Al Gore's Westboro "Baptist" goons did to churches, funerals and such for more than ten years and there were far more than three of those goons. And it's that tolerance of speech, not our fear of it, that makes us American.
Hopefully this is something of a mind-opening experience to bafflingly liberal American Jews.

The key here is that Reform in this instance means liberal. And its posted in a liberal rag.
So maybe just because they guy is liberal testifying for a liberal rag—doesn’t mean the guy didn’t feel threatened.

Oh, I’m sure that many of the people FELT intimidated. Some remembering the old days, some, younger snowflakes that are intimidated by EVERYTHING.
Like 0bama’s “Typical white granny” who would cross the street to avoid walking close to black men, I’m sure that some of those people went out the back door because they didn’t want to have to see people who may or may not have wished them ill.
But barring photos or videos of them carrying signs about killing Jews, or shouting anti-jewish slogans at them, I imagine this is more imagination than threat.
IIRC, numerous eyewitness reports have said that the only people who showed up armed were some groups of Oathkeepers, who almost assuredly were not standing across the street from a synagogue menacing its congregants. This story sounds fake.
