Trump saying ‘There were GOOD people on both sides’ was a big mistake.
Gave Dems/MSM the chance to play Trump saying that with the White-ists marching in the background with torches chanting anti-Jewish chants, which they were doing immediately.
Saying ‘There were BAD people on both sides’ is easier to defend.
Of course as I posted we have Republicans claiming that is not true either,

I'm not sure that there are "sides" here except in the sense that in professional wrestling the easily identifiable protagonists have a role to play. I think if Trump knew what we do he would have used the term "groups."
But I agree with you that sometimes he should stop talking. As Ingraham said, he is supposed to make America feel better, not to try to win every debate point himself. It appears that Anti-Trump inc. suggested that Nazis in the rally are his supporters, and he fell into the trap. Maybe he should have his team argue the fine points.

Trump saying `There were GOOD people on both sides' was a big mistake. He said there were "very fine" people on both sides.

I’d have said “All of them are f.ing retards”.
The Down Syndrome people would be mad at me.
