I'm not sure that there are "sides" here except in the sense that in professional wrestling the easily identifiable protagonists have a role to play. I think if Trump knew what we do he would have used the term "groups."

But I agree with you that sometimes he should stop talking. As Ingraham said, he is supposed to make America feel better, not to try to win every debate point himself. It appears that Anti-Trump inc. suggested that Nazis in the rally are his supporters, and he fell into the trap. Maybe he should have his team argue the fine points.

Its worse than that.

They are using his saying that there were good people on each side (bad idea) and his equating the Antifa/BLM with the racist groups was him telling them that he is really still behind them and he just attacked them to appease the media.

They are also saying the standard: that Trump's voting fraud (aka by them as voter suppression) and anti-immigrant(aka by us as illegal) policies are policies to appease the KKK groups.

If you oppose tearing down statues related to the confederacy for any reason you are NOW a racist.
