Typically, when you are driving a 3,700 pound vehicle and your view is obscured, you stop the vehicle.
They appears to be private vehicles that were stopped or backed up by crowds. I don’t think there is anything mysterious with those 2 other vehicles involved.
Not when you are surrounded by hostile people, some of whom are carrying bats.

Honestly its hard to have a constructive conversation...after you advocate beating the hell out of the driver. I’m tired of mobs of people threatening others who unwittingly get stuck in traffic next to these monsters. And even more tired of these monsters playing victim when their prey refuses to take a Reginald Denny beat down. IMHO impeding a car’s progress eown a public road should be a felony - might put us a notch above South Africa.
Two different videos out there that don’t agree with each other on the crash scene. One shows the Challenger after crashing into the Sedan go into reverse and hit at least four people. The other shows the Challenger go into reverse and not hit anyone. Which video is supposed to be the real footage?

Thanks for posting. It’s in another thread but it’s buried. Aluminum baseball bat camo dude at 0:50 is an interesting fellow. He was part of the group that came across the street and was bashing out the rear window before the car reversed, while another guy in blue was bashing in the rear side window on the right side. Somebody aughta have a sitdown with him soon - the type of bat proves he’s crazier than blue-shirt. Not excusing anything, just checking out the video itself.
I can’t really tell but did the driver hit people while going forward, backward or both?
Too many things are not yet known to conclude that. Such as, what had the guy experienced in the several minutes before he arrived at that crowded area? Had he been threatened, cursed, things thrown at his car as he drove down the street well before coming to the crowd?
How many baseball bats and other club carriers had he noticed along the street? There seemed to be many bats and clubs at the area where he ran into the other vehicles and the crowd.
He might well have had reasons building for several minutes to cause him to fear that he was amidst an armed mob intent on causing him serious harm, so he tried to escape in his car as the only escape route he had.
We need to know what had happened for several minutes before he encountered the mob at the congested area.

I will let the courts decide this one based on evedence when it comes to that. I posted my first comment in haste after watching the video. Seeing that one guy sandwiched between vehicles was a horrible sight ... hard to watch. I have since read more and see that there was plenty violence being dished out by the antifa thugs. That said, it’s still a stretch to justify this driver’s actions if it was done intentionally. A fair trial will reveal what really went down.
