SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Wednesday it is "carefully examining" a plan to strike the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam with missiles, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump told the North that any threat to the United States would be met with "fire and fury".
A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency, said the strike plan will be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un makes a decision.
In another statement citing a different military spokesman, North Korea also said it could carry out a pre-emptive operation if the United States showed signs of provocation.

That is actually pretty common.
A good friend of mine used to travel to China right above the NORK border. The government didn’t like many South Koreans there, because they were afraid the NORKS would kidnap them.
He did see a lot of South Koreans a bit farther north. Lots of Russians too.
Well, they probably are, but no worse than what the US does through Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Visa, Mastercard, EZ Pass, TollTag, etc.
I do not think this has a high probability of being true, but I do think it has some probability of being true, and so therefore we should not dismiss the possibility out of hand.
I don't trust the Deep State to have the best interests of the US at heart. Many of them are Ivy League graduates and they have been poisoned by the Academic environment currently infecting all the campuses in the US.
Can we trust them to not deliberately provoke foreign crises to damage Trump's presidency?

That was my first thought as well. If a preemptive strike is going to result in the destruction of your country, why waste it on Guam?

My understanding is that he could be a Sec of State candidate if she ever wins an election, be it local, state, or some country on the globe. She is a PERFECT candidate for france or even England.

How would we react if they just sent a missile (without explosives) to an uninhabited part of Guam (if there is any) or immediately off shore, to prove they can do it.

The ONLY thing causing Trump to balk at a preemptive strike is the immediate reactive barrage on South Korea by the NorKs. Otherwise it would’ve happened already.
