He did it because he knew he could.

The dog was breathing...so the officer shot it.

an ongoing internal investigation

"In fear of his life" of course will be the answer.

Nothing to see here, move along.

And cops wonder why they aren’t trusted.

marine patrolling is a common assignment for officers in the summertime.

The three officers spotted a boat that they suspected was in violation of city codes. According to their report, the boat was “at risk of becoming derelict” and had tags that weren’t “affixed prominently.”

First it was the WOD...Now it's War On Boats (WOB?)

Were that my dog the next investigation would be into Officer Bertram’s mysterious disappearance.

If there was no valid reason for this dog killing. . .I say removal from the force and jail time. People’s pets are part of family. Look what anguish they are going through.

When I was growing up, an applicant who was too much of a panzy to handle getting bit by a dog was unlikely to be allowed to graduate the police academies.

Standards were higher back then, and some effeminate loser who did crap like this didn’t find defenders on the force. Members of the public didn’t have to raise cain about incidents like this because officers like this guy were fired for the good of the force.

Family looking for answers after Ocoee (FL) police kill their dog..

It is long past time to stop looking for answers and start looking for some payback on these arrogant criminal SOBs.

These dogs are often mistaken for pit-bull types. Maybe one jump and the LEO spooked and shot.

They have been trained to immediately dispatch the pet, because they have been trained for military operations, not law enforcement.

Is anyone in this thread at all interested in hearing the other side of the story before rushing to judgment? Did the cop really say to himself, “I feel like shooting a dog today”?

I’m in L/E. Never had to shoot any animal, but I am confused:

What is a “school resource officer”?
Why is he in a boat if he is detached to some... school?
If he was in a boat doing boat stuff, how did he kill a dog, on land?

I’ve imagined a scenario where a police office shoots one of my dogs, just defending our home. It doesn’t end well for anyone.
