I thought convicted felons could not vote.
I presumed that also meant they could not run for elected office. I could have been wrong.
If it wasn’t so sad, I would laugh my ass off.

To be fair, the article notes that:
“The two who have polled ahead of the field, incumbent Mayor Mike Duggan and state Sen. Coleman A. Young II, the son of the city’s first black mayor, have no criminal records. Nor do candidates Edward Dean and Angelo Brown.”
I don’t live there, so it doesn’t matter to me.

Only 4 out of 8 being felons would be, for Detroit, described as a hopeful, improving situation.

That’s lower than normally.
Then they’re over-qualified.
Each state has its own rules.
That should say CONVICTED felons.....the rest are politicians
