It adds up. It has been adding up. It’s not just BLM that is angry.

GREAT point.

Unfortunately, plenty of “conservatives” here fully & proudly support all of the above.

I’m not really sure that is true. There may be a couple, but the consensus here seems to be against most of that.

The “officers of the law” were just mad that the family didn’t have a dog to shoot.

Every last SWAT department should be shut down. It only encourages excited Barney Fifes to act like pit bulls when they come into a home. It is certainly the last thing from being professional.

I assume they had a search warrant. Only if they didn’t does the 4th apply here.

False.

A three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit does not agree with you.

They are correct, and you are completely mistaken.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated,

The additional qualification under which conditions warrants shall issue and their scope and limitations are necessary but by no means sufficient conditions that a search has been reasonable.

Reasonableness is defined by the standard of a "reasonable man" and additional qualifying conditions to the 4th Amendment have been defined in numerous court cases. A search is by no means reasonable simply because a warrant has been issued. There are many cases where government (local, state, and federal) have had to provide compensation even though a warrant was issued, demolishing your claim.

It’s not just BLM that is angry.

True. But BLM exists ... and it has supporters of all races. Their false accusations have the ring of truth to them, because the police actually have engaged in all manner of misconduct ... and gotten away with it.

“hmmm.....Think I’ll start me a big hydroponic tomato garden. I could use me a BIG CASH SETTLEMENT from the Pittsburgh Police Department.”

Assuming, of course, that you and your family survive. Your pets probably won’t.

Many many drugs are extracts of plants. You are paying a lot for something you could acquired quite cheaply if you knew where to look.

Can’t argue with anything there. I think that there are a lot of even conservative whites that agree with the core BLM message but just don’t like it singling out one race.

There is a problem with many police in this country. Not all, but many. My estimate is roughly half. And part of it is what the job does to a person’s worldview.

I know this: When a cop stops me I comply in any way possible - unless I think I have a 99% chance of getting his gun. And only then when he is violating my rights under the color of authority. i.e. citizens arrest of the cop is what I’d go for.

But I’ve never been close to such a thing since my late teens.

It’s squishy. If they have a warrant, you have no legal recourse AT THE TIME. However, you have plenty after the fact. IOW, IMO I think we are both right. I say that because I agree with the court decision.

I’m making the distinction that it is cut and dried without a warrant. With a warrant it is more “nuanced”.

F**king jack-booted thugs. This Wingo guy belongs in prison. All this for a stupid herb. ANY police drug action directed to pot rather than meth, heroin or opiates is a dereliction of duty. And the moron Jeff Sessions wants to INCREASE this crap (along with seizures and applauding oppression of anyone challenging the BLM). WTF??

These subjects failed to show sufficient gratitude for the fact that the police did not confiscate their home.

And DAMN lucky they don't own a dog or dogs, all of whom would likely be dead.

Your comment when amplified by the information I can find on Google is one reason I don’t have health care insurance. :)

Someone got a little too gung ho to catch the ‘bad guys’ smoking pot.

Or shoot their dog or shoot blindly through the fron door when it wasn't immediately opened.

The jury will eat-up the heartwrenching photos of the 17-year old cat the cops killed.

The cops would not want me on that jury.

Same here.

Since wet tea leaves tested positive, I wonder how many pot possession convictions based on that particular test kit will be overturned?

Sometimes I do wish I was Saul.

Interestingly, I live in Kentucky right in the middle of Cornbread Mafia territory. I just got back from a visit to my friends in Seattle. The number of testimonials I heard regarding the FIRST HAND healing properties of various marijuana extracts was shocking. In one case, the doctors and expensive, invasive surgery had done all they could to no avail. Yet when the guy used an extract he was completely cured. It sounds insane until you’ve actually seen it.

I have a college friend with Multiple Sclerosis who got his life back thanks to cannabis. Needs to be legalized (medically) by Congress ASAP.

They must have been suspected of having “potted” plants.

This incident is being revived now, not only because the appeal was successful, but to raise Trump and Jeff Sessions as boogey men for wanting to reinstate draconian maryjane laws that Benevolent 0bama rolled back. We should all live in fear because Stoner-Hating Republicans are in power.
