The police report would claim it all kicked off at 7:38 a.m., but Bob Harte later thought it had to be earlier. His 7:20 a.m. alarm had just yanked him awake. Got to get the kids a boy in seventh grade, a girl in kindergarten ready for school. Then he heard, like a starter's pistol setting everything into motion, the first pounding on the front door of his home in Leawood, Kansas, a bedroom suburb south of Kansas City. It was thunderous. It didn't stop. Should I get up? Bob thought. Should I not? Sounded like the house was coming down, he would recall later. Wearing only gym shorts, the stocky 51-year-old left his wife in bed and shuffled downstairs. The solid front door had a small window carved at eye-level, one-foot-square. As he approached, Harte saw the porch was clogged with police officers. Immediately after opening the door, seven members of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) pressed into the house brandishing guns and a battering ram. Bob found himself flat on floor, hands behind his head, his eyes locked on the boots of the cop standing over him with an AR-15 assault rifle. ~ . "The Fourth Amendment was not there when we needed it," Bob said. "We want to restore that for future generations."

I assume they had a search warrant. Only if they didn’t does the 4th apply here.
Didn’t read the article did you?
Neither did I. Did they have a warrant?
Guess that Teavana was pretty good stuff?
hmmm.....Think I’ll start me a big hydroponic tomato garden. I could use me a BIG CASH SETTLEMENT from the Pittsburgh Police Department.
These subjects failed to show sufficient gratitude for the fact that the police did not confiscate their home.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Lack of probable cause renders the warrant unconstitutional.
Some warrants ain’t with the paper they’re printed on, legally speaking.
If that’s the case in this case....BOHICA, local taxpayers...
The cops would not want me on that jury.
Interestingly, I live in Kentucky right in the middle of Cornbread Mafia territory. I just got back from a visit to my friends in Seattle. The number of testimonials I heard regarding the FIRST HAND healing properties of various marijuana extracts was shocking. In one case, the doctors and expensive, invasive surgery had done all they could to no avail. Yet when the guy used an extract he was completely cured. It sounds insane until you’ve actually seen it.
The whole health care scam in this country, partly propped up by our marijuana laws, is like government by Mafia.
Oh, and all of those cures are illegal in my state without a note from your doctor. Most are just plain illegal.
Disclaimer: I’ve not touched Marijuana since 1977 and don’t think it should be used to get high.
with=worth....
This event happened in 2012 and the raid was based upon a visit to a hydroponic grow store. For those who didn’t read article. LOL
The children will now be “enemies of the police” the rest of their lives. The police don’t realize the damage they do to their reputation every time they do this.
It adds up. It has been adding up. It’s not just BLM that is angry.
Lol. Now people too lazy to read an article expect to be coddled by those who did.
Guilty!!!!
Ain’t you ever smoked them Tomato leaves????
Unfortunately, plenty of "conservatives" here fully & proudly support all of the above.
“..Did they have a warrant?”
..and did they kill the family dog..
Lack of probable cause renders the warrant unconstitutional.
Where I live the DEA has choppers with infrared cameras to look for pot. The plants give off a different color signature than pretty much anything else. It’s why they don’t want hemp here. It gives off the same signature.
But a quick usage of such a device would have cleared this up nicely before any warrant was even requested. But they didn’t bother.
I think the heavy handedness of this is what is really disconcerting. From the Git-go it was all about intimidation.
