FLASHBACK: Technology travels to House (Awan)
Chicago Tribune ^

Melissa Bean spent a career in the high-tech industry before turning her efforts to politics. So when the Barrington resident was elected to Congress last year to represent the 8th District, Bean knew that technology would travel with her to Washington.

She has worked for Schaumburg-based Motorola Inc. and Mountain View, Calif.-based Synopsis Inc. And in 1995, Bean launched Sales Resources Inc., a sales consultancy aimed at technology companies.

She says her application of technology for personal and political purposes is in stark contrast to the man she defeated in November.

"My predecessor didn't even have an e-mail address," Bean said of Phil Crane. "He was one of the last members of Congress without an e-mail."

The Democrat gets most of her e-mails on her BlackBerry 7290 (www.rim.com), using the hand-held gadget as her phone, e-mail device and calendar.

"I use it to keep up with the multitude of e-mails that I'm getting," Bean said. "The BlackBerry has become my indispensable tool."

She receives between 700 and 1,000 e-mails, most of which come in through her Web site (www.house.gov/bean). Two schedulers--one in Washington and one in her Illinois office--also wirelessly transmit appointments right to Bean's BlackBerry.

"Her calendar is sent directly to her BlackBerry, regardless of where she is," said Imran Awan, the information technology director for eight Democratic members of Congress. "We also send her PDF documents [to brief her]."

Which means that Bean, along with many of her colleagues, spends a lot of time using her BlackBerry on the way to--and during--meetings.

"I can be in committee hearings, which take a long time, and use the BlackBerry to see what's coming up, my next meeting and upcoming legislation," Bean said. "I don't know how members of Congress sat through committee meetings before."

Bean also sends monthly electronic newsletters to her mailing list. Her office uses a company called Advocacy Inc. (www.advocacyinc.com) to manage e-mail subscribers and deliver the newsletters. Advocacy also provides newsletter templates and manages quarterly constituent surveys conducted by Bean.

"We're always looking at ways to improve our outreach," Bean said. "We'd like to get to a point where we can even do virtual town hall meetings." Her staff is also looking to replace the sign-in book outside her office with a computerized kiosk to take names electronically.

"Why should I have somebody re-enter that data manually? We need to have a kiosk to use our resources more effectively and we can be much more responsive that way." Technology also comes into play when communicating with her two daughters while she's away.

"Most homework help I can do over the phone," Bean said. "But, occasionally, on a math question," she has to actually see the problem.

So the Beans implemented Logitech Web cameras. "They lift the book to the camera and you see the problem," she said. "It was one of the things I promised before I was sworn in. They said, `Mom, what if we have a homework question that Dad can't help us with?' I said we'll get this camera, and you can show it to me." The kids have to enter a security code to log into the computer network on Capitol Hill.

"Then the machine is authorized to talk to our machine," said Awan, Bean's IT manager. "Everybody wants to hack into government institutions, so you have to secure yourself."

Overall, for Bean, effective technology use can lead to greater transparency between government and its constituents.

"If there's transparency, like the newsletters we send out, people know what their legislators are doing," Bean said. "They know they're being represented."

Some interesting info.

Awan set up webcams for members of Congress' kids. They had remote password access to Congressional computers. He's been there quite a long time.

“Everybody wants to hack into government institutions,” (but we’re already on the inside)!

The_Donald on Reddit identified anti-Trump news sources and required linking to them be via archive so as not to drive up traffic to Fake News sites.

A spy ring of Paki nationals who took control of purchasing and configuring every laptop and Blackberry that every congressman in the House uses. For the last 12 years.

Is that a bad thing?

Webcams for the kids to use, or webcams for Awan to surveil them (and thus, use them to blackmail their parents??).

Awan, Bean's IT manager: "Everybody wants to hack into government institutions."

The Awan clan didn't need to hack in. They waltzed right in through the front door. Was he spying when this was written 12 years ago?

Apparently they had access to ALL House computers. That’s all the classified info being shared to Congress, plus their personal info on phones/blackberry provided to them by the Awans.

BLACKMAIL material.

Is this why DWS was reluctant to fire them? They know about her involvement in Seth Rich’s murder?

If we can find all the dirt the Awan brothers have, might be able to topple the existing globalists running Congress.

If this woman was so smart and so astute regarding IT matters, how did she get sucked into hiring a common criminal to run her IT stuff? Stupid is as stupid does according to Forest Gump’s mom. Pogo the opossum said it best, “ We have met the enemy and he is us.”

Can you envision Democrats holed up in their offices as L/E comes to call?
Hope no Democrat is overlooked; Democrats are pretty sneaky:

.....according to senior congressional sources Wasserman Schultz's refusal
to answer questions could "merit a request for her resignation"........

=============================================

CONTACT CONGRESS: Capitol Switchboard 1-866-220-0044

Call President Trump: Comments: 202-456-1111 Switchboard: 202-456-1414

FBI TIPS PAGE--YOU MAY REMAIN ANONYMOUS ---https://tips.fbi.gov

===========================================

REASONS WHY DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULTZ MUST BE
EJECTED FROM CONGRESS AND PLACED UNDER HOUSE ARREST.

ITEM--- Wasserman Schultz drags out the tired, smelly "Islamaphobia" excuse to explain her actions, after every other Dumbocrat----now scared s***-less----fired the shady Pakis.

ITEM---D/W/S stupidly blocked police from examining a hidden laptop tied to Imran-----braindead D/W/S failed to comprehend that she undercut her own explanation. If Wasserman Schultz really wanted the truth (other than Islamaphobia), she would not prevented L/E from obtaining evidence that would help prove her point.

ITEM----Wasserman Schultz was reckless to assume anti-Muslim bias was the only plausible explanation. She would have denied Awan access to her computers after House authorities banned Imran from the House network in early February.

ITEM--- Wasserman Scultz not only kept Awan on staff after the ban, but she employed no other IT person to administer her tech needs, according to payroll records........ suggesting that Awan might well have maintained access to Wasserman Schultz’s computers AFTER the ban.

ITEM---D/W/S said Imran Awan was working in an “advisory” role “providing her advice on technology issues.” She did not say who performed the office’s computer work after the ban.....if not Awan.

ITEM---Apparently, Wasserman Schultz planned to keep sending tax dollars to Awan in Pakistan for six months, until his scheduled return. He remained on D/W/S's payroll----sucking up tax dollars----- until his arrest.

The Pakistan govt apparently considers Imran very important b/c of his braggadocio----representations about his political power in the US, saying he's "from the Congress." The grateful Paki govt even provides Imran with a VIP police escort.

=====================================================

This is very easy to unravel. Pres Trump, AG Sessions, and SOS Rex Tillerson call in the Pakistani Ambassador for a "little chat." The Pakistani Ambassador surely knows plenty---like (a) what important issues Imran is "advising" Cong Debbie about, and (b) the whereabout of the rest of the Paki IT gang.

Call President Trump: Comments: 202-456-1111 Switchboard: 202-456-1414

========================================

FACTS ON FILE

<><> About half of House Republicans have signed a letter urging we cut off all aid to Pakistan. They consider it a terrorist-sponsoring nation.

<><> T-Rex calls in the Paki Ambassador, and speaking privately, gives him one week to show up with (a) evidence on Wasserman-Schultz, and, (B) the rest of the IT gang.

<><> Either that or the State Dept will weigh in----and support adding Pak to terrorist list......cutting off all foreign aid.

<><> When the Pakis cough up the evidence, and the IT gang, (as they surely would), T-Rex turns it over to Pres Trump and to the DOJ (not the FBI).

<><> The DOJ then oversees the case; the FBI is given a time-certain to provide corroborating evidence (so they can't Mafia it out).
