Fox News Floats Sessions To Replace Kelly At Homeland Security

Fox News co-host Dana Perino on Friday night suggested former Homeland Security head John Kelly was named new White House chief of staff to clear a path for President Trump to remove Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Sessions has been in disfavor with President Trump for some time, with the president's criticism rapidly escalating over the past week.

“I think that this was all set up for a few weeks because the president has been so upset about Jeff Sessions and his recusal in the Russia investigation,” Perino suggested on her show "The Five."

Perino added that removing Sessions from his post would also clear the way for Trump to appoint a new attorney general who could "fire" Robert Mueller, the special counsel in charge of leading the probe into Russian election interference. Trump has expressed anger at Mueller's investigation, calling it a "witch hunt."

"And then you have a new AG who can fire Mueller," Perino said.

I can see Sessions at Homeland Security
He seems like a decent loyal brown- shoe guy who can follow rules
As long as he can grow a spine and squelch the open borders disloyalty among the lower ranks that refuse to get with the program
Gets him out of the maelstrom that has consumed the AG/DOJ and FBI and left us vulnerable to unspeakably partisan and brutal corruption and legislative branch interference
Nicely sidesteps the hysterical Miss Lindsay Graham and the codgers Grassley and Hatch

Send Sessions to DHS.... Guiliani for AG to either fire Mueller or at least provide oversight and reign him in with respect to Clinton acolytes on his investigative team. Guiliani won’t have to recuse himself on “Russia” and he can also have full authority to go after the “Clinton Cartel.” Let this dog loose, please!

Sessions wants to be the AG.

Leave him alone.

Don’t fire Meuller, focus him on the election. That automatically gives them two options....declare no collusion and disband or go after the democrats

Most of us would have no problem with Sessions at Homeland security.
We need a young junk yard dog at AG. Someone who has the techniques of mob control with a conservative heart

I don’t think Rudy wants the AG job. I believe he initially turned it down. Plus he has all kinds of international business contacts with his private security firm.

I could see Sessions being moved to DHS; here’s a possible AG alternative few would like: Chris Christie.

Yep. Sessions would be great at Homeland Security.

And yes, we need a junk yard dog as AG.

AG Sessions should stay right where he is. He's the methodical voice of caution in this administration. Do you really think anyone, even someone as popular as Guiliani, could get confirmed as AG? With the treachery in the US Senate, you'd have John McCain as the deciding vote for whom the next AG would be!

I'm not the only deplorable who feels that AG Sessions staying where he is must be a line not to be crossed. What would the Deplorable Agenda have been without him? Who would've written speeches that will be referred to through the ages if Sessions aide Steve Miller hadn't been articulating the vision?

Besides that, the argument to put AG Sessions at Homeland Security makes no sense. The Deep State types with this agenda use as their argument that AG Sessions isn't forceful enough. Huh? So now they want someone who "isn't forceful enough" to run Homeland Security? That person should be someone from the military or law enforcement with a lifetime history of actually working to stop and reverse the invasion of the US. Someone without that strategy experience cannot possibly implement what needs to be done on the ground.

Every day I put one rant on FR in support of AG Sessions. Silverleaf, this isn't directed directly to you. It's directed to those who need to know how so many of us Deplorables feel about this.

If it happens I have the perfect successor at AG: Clarence Thomas. Imagine the confirmation hearings! The Democrats love drama-Trump: “You want drama you got it bitch!”

“Don’t fire Meuller, focus him on the election.”

I’m sorry but you are being naive. No one is going to focus Mueller. He’s already gone way past the election. He and his Rat hit squad are digging into any Trump financial transactions including 10 year old apartment rentals. He is on a get Trump vendetta and Rosenstein gave him total latitude on purpose. Unless Sessions resigns Trump cannot do anything about it short of firing Mueller and that could finish Trump. So thanks again Jeff.

I think we need to wait a bit on Sessions. Trump just got Sessions the full backing of the Senate to do whatever he needs to do, and Trump is on notice not to do a thing about it - LOL! I think Linda realized he had been had when he tried to introduce a bill prohibiting Trump from firing Mueller.

Trump got Sessions out of the bind of his own recusal which meant, arguably, a lot of things that Sessions should investigate he arguably couldn't investigate - e.g. the leaks are all tied to the Russia issue. Now Sessions is free to do the necessary.

Sessions could disappoint, and we will watch like a Hawk. This James Baker thing is a fascinating start to the new world.

“He’s the methodical voice of caution”

Is that why he recused himself and blessed the nation with Mueller?

I would not trust the increasingly leftist FOX News for any advice they float for Pres Trump. They daily undermine him in big and small ways and are as trustworthy as back stabber McCain. As to keeping Sessions where he is, I agree with your post. Besides, there is no reason to think that something beneficial would result from this suggestion of replacing a proven loyal person, Jeff Sessions, in the Trump administration for an unknown, untested, individual. Especially at this time of flushing out the enemies within the Trump administration. Leave well enough alone. And Sessions is far better than well enough.

All these ideas floated are well and good but how the hell will Trump get new cabinet picks approved with the weakening Repub controlled senate?!

Sekulow would never get congressional approval because he really would be a swamp drainer.
