Not necessarily. The dossier is so ridiculous that only the Democrats could believe it. Anyone who would check the facts would have to reject it as real. The liberals might even pick up on this, but it'll be hilarious what their argument will be: they woul have to say that the Democrats colluded with Russia, to create evidence against Trump that would backfire on Democrats, which is proof that Trump colluded with the Russians.
I think there is a large problem with that. However all the Podesta emails got to Wikileaks, the gradual release of those emails did damage Hillary and they damaged her significantly being dribbled out over several months.
No way that Deep State did all the hacking and meddling and found some way to blame it on the Russians because Hillary was damaged by it.
That still doesn't prove that the Russians did it, or how much they did since the public has never been provided any real evidence, just the claim that umpteen intelligence agencies agree that Russia meddled in our elections.
And where would Seth Rich fit in if everything was being orchestrated by Deep State?
There is so much involved in this that Deep State could have orchestrated some things, and Russia could have meddled in some way, and Seth Rich could have been a Wikileaks source. Those things are not mutually exclusive and often there is not just one answer to a complicated puzzle.
Evil McCain was setup to be the fall guy by a lot of other evil people. The dossier was passed around for months before McCain got to it. Jeb, the Clintons...etc. Comey and the Deep State surely knew about it before they got it from McCain.
The Deep State tipped off McCain, and McCain like the dupe that he is, got the dossier and gave it to Comey's FBI. It was done that way, to deflect the blame away from Obama, Comey and all the rest of them.
It fits. It's anti Russian. Somebody big has a weed up their ass about Russia.
It could have been Russian government operatives and it could have been rogue Russians not working for their government, just working for a good payday.
I think my #62 is where I stand on this now. There might not be just one answer to who did what, but still the golden showers dossier nonsense played a significant part in the justification to start probing the Trump campaign.

I just can’t buy it that everything was orchestrated by Deep State because Hillary was unquestionably damaged by all the gradual leaking of the Podesta emails by Wikileaks and other information.
You are assuming that the business with the dossier and The DNC/Podesta Wikileaks hack were done by the same source.
The Wikileaks emails hurt Hillary.
The Dossier hurt Trump.
There is no reason whatsoever to believe that the Russians had anything to do with the Wikileaks chain of events. And I don’t believe they did. Zero motivation for the Russians to try to damage Hillary of 20% Uranium Fame. I’m certain we are agreement on that score.
OTOH, the Russians WOULD be motivated to see Easily Bribed Hillary elected President of the United States. And we do know that the Russians, not the DNC lured Jared and Donald Jr. to that famous 20 minute meeting to lobby the Trump team to end the Russian Sanctions. This is certainly an indicator of the importance of the those sanctions to Putin and, in my mind, his major reason for preferring President Hillary to President Donald.
There is plenty of evidence of the Obama Administration and the Dems scheming to undermine the Trump campaign. So I agree absolutely that the Trump-Russia Collusion thread is total bunk and almost certainly a Hillary-DNC-Obama creation early in the campaign to use as an excuse for the unmasking and subsequent spying on the Trump campaign.
On this I presume we also agree.
But you too easily dismiss the fact that the Russians, Putin and those nasty Oligarchs have $Billions at stake here. That is a big motivation. We are told that getting rid of the sanctions is Putin’s number 1 foreign policy goal. We saw one thrust at ending them with the Trump Jr. meeting. That happened. That’s real. Why dismiss the idea that their are others?
And, most of all, why dismiss the idea that the Dems and the Russians, with their common goal of electing Hillary wouldn’t be cooperating. That’s hardly a giant stretch.
My bottom line for this long post:
You are clearly very knowledgeable about the basic facts of all this crazy Russia-Trump business. But I urge you to not ignore the possibility if not the likelihood of some Russia-Hillary business and dig into it. Today’s Congressional testimony would be a good starting point.
1. Seth Rich supplied the DNC emails to Wikileaks.
2. Some dirty tricksters got with Fusion GPS and some Russians, maybe government and maybe not, and put together the golden showers dossier. Then it was routed through England and John McCain and on the Comey at the FBI.
3. Podesta's emails could have been hacked by anyone with that "password" password. I betting on Gucifer, or Lucifer, or some similar hacker.
4. Official Russia probably did meddle and snoop around our elections to some extent as they often do. but it had no impact.
Actually, I haven't solved anything except that it's unlikely that all those actions were carried out by the same entities.

It's getting more obvious every day that the Russia-Russia meme posited by Hillary, the DNC and the MSM was a giant smoke screen because, as Hillary so aptly stated, "We're all going to hang." It's worked. . . so far. Not much left of the onion though. It's all getting very very old.
Get the new FBI guy in. . find out if he is a pit bull, get McCabe fired and start the investigations, indictments and prosecutions of Hillary, Obama, Lynch, Comey, Podesta, Mills, Rice, Rhodes, Abedin, Jarrett, Clapper, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Brennan and a whole list of dem operatives. They are all guilty of many felonies, sedition and treason.
