I’ll never understand how Priebus got the COS job in the first place. The guy is IMO too obviously establishment.

Perhaps Trump wanted to keep his enemies close.

I believe he convinced President Trump that he could persuade Paul Ryan to jump on the Trump Train....instead... I believe he was a mole for Ryan.

We’ll soon find out if he was the leaker.

To Priebus’s credit the RNC performed excellently during the campaign. This job was a reward for playing a large role on the outcome. He also got the Wisconsin electoral votes in his home state.

I was always suspect of this placement, but figured Trump must have really been impressed and felt this was a good bridge to Ryan and the congressional leadership to get things done. Whether he is a leaker or not, I have no clue but the plan to have him be able to get congress working effectively on key legislation clearly has failed.

Trump seemed convinced that Priebus worked his ass off to get him elected. He was in a better position to know that I was, so I accepted it. IMO, Priebus has never been a friend of Conservatives, and I wasn’t all that thrilled that he would have the president’s ear as often as he would.

Six months later, and Riense is gone. Heh heh heh...

Good!

Trump has been hindered by Riense and Congress. I’m sick of it. Trump needs to start playing hardball with these folks.

Call them out in public. Let the public form a movement to remove those blocking Trump’s efforts.

There was an idea that Priebus’ friendship with Ryan would help Trump get cooperation in the House. The help never materialized, though. Priebus couldn’t deliver.

Kellyanne recommended Reince. That was why she has been acting somewhat upset.

I think President Trump was trying to make nice with the flamer Ryan. Looks like that is over.

Still I wouldn’t have expected him to be the leaker since at the end of the campaign he did help Trump. Who will now trust Priebus?

It got Priebus out of the RNC, maybe that was the real goal.

Trump most likely thought hiring Priebus would give him currency with Ryan. Obviously didn’t work out that way.

I think he got the job because he put the RNC solidly behind Trump once he was the obvious winner of the nomination for the Repub candidate. When others were seeking ways to twist the system to put someone else up, Reince was saying that Trump was the candidate and they needed to back him.

He was rewarded for that loyalty and then went back to wet dishrag mode.

Just speculation, but I think Trump was trying very hard to work with the GOP establishment. He probably felt like he had to at least try.

No one can ever say that the president didn’t give Priebus a chance.
