OMG! Eric Cantor Admits GOP Promise To Repeal Obamacare Was ALL A LIE
thegatewaypundit ^ | Joshua Caplan

Posted on 07/27/2017 5:36:51 AM PDT by davikkm

Before he was defeated by unknown economist Dave Brat, then Minority Whip Eric Cantor led the charge to repeal Obamacare. Day in and day out, the GOP Rep. railed against the disastrous healthcare plan, using the hot button issue as ammo to drum up political support and boost fundraising efforts.

In a stunning admission, Cantor now admits the GOP was never serious about repealing the healthcare bill. It was all a charade.

The Washingtonian reports:

Cantor helped create that perception. Earlier that summer—after many failed attempts over the years to shred the law piecemeal—Cantor promised colleagues that the House would vote on a “full repeal.” But even after it did, the measure was dead on arrival in the Democratic-controlled Senate. Cantor—in Congress 13 years and, fairly or unfairly, once thought to be above electoral reproach—paid the price. His 2014 avenger, now-congressman David Brat, bludgeoned him for being soft on Obamacare, among other things. But the failure to make a dent in the law landed a bigger blow on the party. After seven years of pledging they could dismantle Obamacare, if only they had control of Congress and the White House, Republicans—at last in charge of both—have faced deep divisions over a replacement.

Asked if he feels partly responsible for their current predicament, Cantor is unequivocal. “Oh,” he says, “100 percent.”

RE:”After seven years of pledging they could dismantle Obamacare, if only they had control of Congress and the White House, Republicans—at last in charge of both—have faced deep divisions over a replacement. “

After Obama got reelected and it went into effect giving millions of people medicaid ~ late 2013 the game changed.

But Trump played that same game too, repeal and replace, keep the pre-existing conditions but get rid of the personal mandate, that was all BS.

Trump should issue an executive order putting all current and former members of congress, their families and staff, on Obamacare until it is repealed and then watch the sewer rats squeal!

There is no Republican Party

************

An absolute FACT and a reality that we need to acknowledge. They have burned us too many times. As the old saying goes: “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”

Laboring under the misconception that the GOP represents us is not a productive path forward IMHO. We desperately need a new party that actually represents conservatives. The GOP will never do that.

How brave to say so after it’s become obvious.

President Trump has exposed them all as frauds and that’s the reason they hate him.

The battle in DC has been lost. Even if we replaced or sent more republicans to DC in 18, it won’t change.

Article 5 is the answer now.

Or at some point, those of us pulling the wagon will simply say “%$&^ this” and go Galt, or pickup arms.

“....There is no Republican Party...there is the Uniparty...Cantor spits out what we patriots already knew...”

Yep, right on. And there is no getting rid of it short of an outright rebellion by the People...which, BTW, will never happen. The UniParty stages these charades to lull the People into thinking there are two parties. In reality, there is no 2-party system in the USA, just the UniParty. The UniParty wants single-payer and will get single-payer. With the UniParty that now exists in the Swamp, there is no sense of even voting anymore as it’s all a big hoax on the American People. Regardless of who’s elected, the dissolve into The UniParty. What the UniParty wants, is what the UniParty gets. The sooner the People come to this realization, the better off they’ll be.

Not long after ObamaCare was passed in 2010 I posted several times here on FR that the GOP fully supported most of its provisions despite their unanimous opposition in Congress to the House and Senate bills.

I'd estimate that 98% of the Freepers who posted in response to me thought I was nuts (at best) or completely full of crap (at worse).

Sometimes I hate being right.

To be fair, let's acknowledge that most Americans want single-payer health care. They just don't know it.

Oh, they'll never come out and say they do, and they may be sincere when they say they hate it. It's just that there's no way a health care system can meet the impossible wishes of most Americans unless it's a single-payer system run by a government with totalitarian control.

Most Americans want a health care system that does the following:

1. It covers everyone.
2. It covers everything.
3. It doesn't cost very much.

In other words, we want something that simply doesn't exist ... which means it naturally falls on a government with an unlimited capacity to print money to give it to us.

There is a coalition of conservative and libertarian thinkers in the House and Senate, but they are all huddled over in one side of that wider umbrella known as the “Republican party”. They are a majority within a majority, but still a minority overall.

There is no hope of capturing any of the current crop of Democrats, who have all gone off awhoring after the “perfect” socialist state, which has never existed, and cannot ever exist, given the true diversity of humanity. Oh, they CLAIM to be “diverse”, but they demand a strictly uniform degree of adherence to an impossible standard of conduct never experienced in any natural order of things. Socialism only works at the point of a gun and by using up the accumulated store of wealth, usually in the form of other people’s money. Socialism cannot generate any great accumulations of wealth, as they do not permit the entrepreneur to enjoy the fruits of his ingenuity and labor. So, do the sensible thing, and exert only enough effort to avoid punishment. The wages are the same, the minimum IS the maximum.

Except for a crafty few who set themselves up as the elites, and do not obey the rules set for everybody else, all the while they do not happen to get caught.

When they get caught, they get sent through the meat grinder.

The wurst is yet to come.

Just enforce the law as written and watch how quick it is modified.

Obama just ignored the parts that were be unpopular if enforced.

It's one thing to be unscrupulous and unethical.

For a professional politician it's now the norm.

We are only surpised if we stumble on one who is honest.

But arrogantly rubbing your lies in the face of your supporters raises unscrupulous conduct to Tar and Feather territory.
