The man yelled to Chicago police officers standing near the scene of a fatal shooting on the South Side.
"Did he have on black jogging pants like this?" he asked, pointing to his own.
The man had heard his friend, Darius Gavin, had been shot, but he needed to be sure. He had just bought Gavin the jogging pants as an early birthday present and figured his friend might have been wearing them.
The officers didn't know, so the man headed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where the victim had been taken and pronounced dead.
“Lord have mercy, I got to leave Chicago," the man said as he left.
Police later confirmed his fears and identified Gavin as the man who was shot in the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue around 10:20 p.m. Monday. Gavin had lived in an apartment building on the block and would have turned 21 on Friday.
Moments before the shooting, he had been hanging out with a group of people outside the apartment building, according to a law enforcement source. Three armed men pulled up in a silver Nissan Maxima, got out and started firing as people ran.
Gavin was shot in the head. A woman in her 20s was shot in both legs and taken to the same hospital, where her condition was stabilized.
After the shooting, people ran to an SUV at the northern edge of the street, where women inside were crying and screaming. “I don’t know why,” one cried loudly.

Two men standing nearby nodded in agreement that people killed in shootings are not always involved in gang life. One of them was a witness who talked with detectives.

This is local news on the level of a "dog bites man" story, it doesn't even warrant national air time.
Cleary there is no “gun control”.
My new neighbor is a career prison guard. The prison population is largely black. His descriptions of the prisoners he talks to are eye-opening. They have no sense or concern that they have hurt people and don’t give the violence they commit even a second thought. When asked they will tell you, “I never thought I’d get caught.” That’s the world they live in. They probably broke the law or hurt people for a decade or more before they got caught. They are surprised to get caught, which says more about how they live and the world they see than anything else.
I don’t believe anything like this lawlessness existed, at least not on this scale, before LBJ’s “war on poverty.” That created several generations of fatherless, feral animals who look like human beings but aren’t human inside. They are un-socialized, selfish and unconcerned for their fellow man. All of this courtesy of Democrats.

The one thing that can get you killed in prison quickly is talking to guards. You can be a racist Nazi skinhead and still not get shanked.

LBJ killed more people through his “War on Poverty” than terrorists have killed. These young Black men should be either in school or working to put food on the table, instead of hanging out with gangs and dealing drugs. Prior to the "Great Society," I read that the illegitimacy rates for blacks was slightly lower than that for whites.
Now, the status for young black males is based on how many different women they have impregnated: status for young black women is based on how many babies they have squeezed out. These babies have no father figure and the only male role models they know are thugs.
This is a direct result of LBJ's vote buying fiasco.

Although my dollars per hour estimates may be wrong, consider this....
Average hourly wage for uneducated black men = Around $8-$10/hour.
Average hourly wage selling drugs for the same uneducated black men (assuming he is an aggressive sales person) = $50-$100/hour. Which job would you choose?

Black inmates don’t have a conscience. They are subhuman and throw feces and urine on guards.
You are right - it is the lack of a good family structure.
Earlier this month I attended the funeral of a black man who worked for my grandfather and then my father. He was around 90. He was married to the same woman until her death. They raised two fine children. He did not have an easy life - but his daughter went on to get a college education, married a local guy who went on to become a Lt. Col.
This daughter and her husband raised children, two of whom are Lt. Cols. This man who’s funeral I attended and his wife were the glue and cement that caused their children to succeed.
The poor kids coming up in the ghettos and housing projects know nothing of compassion and care for anyone - why would anyone care or be sad about they people they murder - they are just objects to them, because they have received no care of compassion themselves. I see little babies from this environment in the grocery store - their mothers saying “shut up” to them when they cry, poor little souls.
They are, indeed, human. That is what pre civilized pre agricultural humans were/are. Their mentality is of the hunter/gatherer/warrior set without the necessity of actually hunting for food or collecting berries and nuts.
They have destroyed the black family and have done a lot of damage to the white family. Only the Asians seem to retain much of a connection to family.
