Very likely. Which is why people should not “do favors” for trainees and the like based on sympathy with their past or race or whatever. You’re really not doing a person a favor by sending them out to do a job they are not yet ready for, you are putting them at great risk. Assuming the guy is really the nicest guy in the world but dumb as a box of rocks- he just murdered someone while playing with his gun and is - in theory at least- looking at serious time in prison for being an idiot. All because of political correctness.
On the other hand maybe he’s not at all the “nicest guy just dreaming of being a cop” and knew exactly what he was doing and did it in cold blood. In that case political correctness still put him there.
What a mess.
We just recently became the lucky recipients of an asylum seeking Somali family on our street. Their two sons are now terrorizing the neighborhood with drug dealing, threatening people by firing off a gun near then etc.
They saw Mr. GG2 leave one day while I was outside and made a beeline to our house. I stepped inside and locked the door. They started pounding on the front door so I actually picked up my gun. The dog was frothing at the mouth at the front window so they ambled off after a couple minutes.
One was deported in 2013 for statutory rape but sneaked back in. The other has an arrest warrant out. Instead of being in jail they are still skulking around.
They are all bad news and have no business in the US.
Be a real shame if those two wound up getting in an accident. A real shame....
Naturally the Blue Wall has clamped down. We won’t hear more until they figure out how to spin it.

One of our neighbors had to physically restrain her husband from taking his gun after the one kid when he found out the kid had pulled a gun and discharged it into the ground a couple of times to intimidate her and another woman. By the time the cops got there the gun had mysteriously disappeared so the cops left. Mr. GG2 has had stare downs with these kids several times. They know he carries. They have no fear of authority and the crops are reluctant to arrest them because the refugee thing. Its going to end badly bone of these nights.

1. Why is he classified as a “refugee?”

Atlanta is lousy with Somalis. The cops tell us they are going to pick these little animals up but never seem to be able to catch them. I have no trouble spotting them every time I drive down the street.
Really frustrating situation—that they are still here and that you have to be on guard on your own street!
May want to put a video surveillance system on your house...for your safety as well as your belongings. We bought one but have not installed it. I feel safe, but just don’t know for how long with all the immigrants, and BLM stuff brewing :(
We have a mobile alarm system named Coco. Nothing gets past her. And if it does sadly we will have to shoot it.

Glad to hear you all are taking responsibility for yourselves and not depending on the police. Carry that gun on you at home when you can or keep it close at all times, I do. I'm afraid that is the new normal.

My Bichon foiled a robbery attempt at the neighbors house—there is something to be said for my “yippy” dog who would not stop barking with that “something’s going on over there bark.”
Ours lays up on the back on f the sofa and watches the street 24\7. If anybody comes up the drive she is frothing at the mouth. LOL!
What an asset to have!
Mine lay by front door or on stairs in front of door. Highlight of their day is when mail carrier delivers or the unplanned Fed-ex delivery ;)

...my Bichon and a Bichon mix “bequeathed” to me by my son ~ don’t get me started on millennials and their compulsion to own a dog but then can’t keep them...)
