The more I read what Krauthammer states, the more I see him moved to the liberal obstructionists side. Why hasn’t he made a big stink about the HIGH CORRUPTION by both the Clinton “clan” and their friend odumbo? But I caution him
to have damn good security as his life would be in great danger.

Simple agency law: He was doing opposition research, which is part of the normal duties for someone in the campaign management. The legal peril was a result of those normal duties.
Not only can the campaign pay for his legal defense, it probably MUST.

I cite agency law, not campaign laws. It is probably worth a few minutes to look up campaign laws but I am pretty sure they are about finance and transparency, not opposition research or meetings.

I just tried 6 ways from Sunday to find laws about restrictions on an individual in Campaigns and found nothing. As I suspected, all the laws have to do with finance.
Since Donny did not meet with any actual representative of Russia and even then it would have to be for the express purpose of getting Russia to DO something for money), this was a perfectly legitimate, valid and legal meeting.
