Greenwald: Donald Trump Jr.'s Emails Are Not A "Smoking Gun" Of Anything; Democrats Keep "Moving Goal Posts" For Allegations

DEMOCRACY NOW!: The White House is in crisis mode following revelations that Donald Trump’s own son embraced an apparent effort by the Russian government to peddle information incriminating Hillary Clinton in an attempt to help Trump win the presidency. In a new interview with Reuters, President Trump defended his son and said that he himself did not know about the meeting. We speak with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald, co-founder of The Intercept, who notes that Democrats have had similar entanglements with foreign governments.

"I don’t think that this revelation, interesting though it may be, is as significant or a smoking gun when it comes to the impeachment or the prosecution case," Greenwald said about the Donald Trump Jr. emails.

He explained: "To me, it seems as though the people who are moving the goalposts are the Democrats. The claim all along, the reason why there’s talk of impeachment, the reason why there is a special prosecutor, the reason why people want to see Trump and his associates criminally prosecuted, is because of the claim that they committed crimes by colluding with the Russians with regard to the hacking. That’s what Harry Reid has always said. That’s what John Podesta has always said. That has always been the Democratic claim."

"This newest evidence doesn’t in any way suggest that," he concluded.

As an oil exporter, why would the Russians prefer Trump to Hillary?

Trump is invigorating US oil production.

Hillary would have decimated it.

What level of IQ is required to “get it”?

50, 60, 75?

We are going to have to start calling President Trump “the Teflon Don”, as he manages to elude any conclusive determination as to whether he is guilty an any criminal activity. No matter how much or what kind of garbage is thrown at him, it is all of no value past a few days of great flurry and agitation in the dovecote, then something new has to be initiated.

Doves being just that, rather easily excited and nervous creatures, it really takes very little, rarely anything of substance, to get them going. Donald Trump is actually guilty of only one transgression, that of defeating Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, in the Electoral College, for the office of President of the United States of America. And those who said Trump “had no path” to attaining a minimum of 270 electoral votes, ended up having their words fed back to them, resulting in a most heroic indigestion.

This too shall pass, resulting in a net loss to those who first tried to bring up “collusion” as some kind of crime, and who would try to build this into a case for impeachment. They cannot get there from here. First of all, whatever Articles of Impeachment are drawn up, they would have to be voted on by the House of Representatives, and it would have to be really overwhelming preponderance of the evidence supporting the charges, to gain the necessary indictment under these Articles of Impeachment.

Even though the President may be impeached, it is still incumbent upon the US Senate, meeting in the whole, to determine whether to remove the sitting President from office. All very deliberate and an extremely onerous exercise, not to be concluded in haste or a state of high emotion.

This in no way reverses or invalidates the election results that put the President, thus removed, into office in the first place, and the legal order of succession applies, first the Vice-President, then the current Speaker of the House, then the Majority leader of the Senate. There is no path to put Hillary Clinton, the loser of the 2016 Presidential race, in the White House.

So Maxine Davis may just as well give up, as she, like Don Quixote, is tilting at windmills, figments of her own imagination she has turned into some kind of mythical beast, but which tears her from her mount and dashes her to the ground by the implacable turn of the blades.

Of curse, Don Quixote did not give up after that encounter, he only went on to seek greater and more magnificent victories elsewhere.

Which he also ended up getting dumped over in a most ignominious manner.

The IQ of 90% of the LEFT places on the LEFT side of the Bell Curve.

The IQ of 90% of the LEFT places on the LEFT side of the Bell Curve.

If I had good graph-drawing software I would juxtapose two bell-curves, one showing human IQ, the other showing the population of the Left, as you say, shifted way to the left.

I've worked in Politics, been on two national campaigns, performed opposition research for national, federal and statewide offices and acted in a campaign strategy mode. In total, I've worked on more than a dozen campaigns at varying levels.

This whole "Russian collusion" is a big NOTHING BURGER. Anyone who's been in an opposition research mode at any level knows it.

I'm really sick and tired of the sensationalist headlines meant to be the entire story, which prevents most non-critical thinking people from ever getting beyond the headline in the first place.

Misleading, fake, disingenuous, false, lying headlines whatever one wants to call them, are the reason the lying liberal lamestream media's "approval ratings" are below that of even Congress.

CNN is nothing more than the poster child for everything that is wrong across the entire "news media" spectrum.

Fox News Sunday and Chris Wallace this morning sunk to CNN's level and it was very disappointing to see.

Please let me know what software you use. I find excel extremely inadequate for most purposes. I would like one in which I could pull the curves one way or another while keeping them a given shape... and shaping them in a way that makes sense, not ending up like kindergarten crayon drawings.

Thanks in advance.

I could do it in Visio easily! All I'd have to do is import any generic bell curve, create some data, link it, overlay it onto the curve and it's done.

I could also add labels for "Progressive", "Alt-Left" and others to the far left of the curve and "Conservative" on the far right of the curve. So many ways to make that bell curve without actual bell curve software.

Visio. Good idea. I have a beginner’s acquaintance with that software.

You can do it in PowerPoint too if you really wanted to.

On with the investigation.

<>Have Mueller demand to see Natalia’s plastic folder.

<> What an unexpected bonus showing the purportedly details the Clinton’s financial crimes.

<> Now, Mueller is stuck with real evidence, but the stinking trail leads to Hillary, not Trump.

<> The heavy-hitting lawyers on Mueller’s team are conflicted out of the dog-fight.

<> Mueller is playing his own long-game trying to force President Trump to fire him, which would create a new rabbit hole for the Control-LEFT media to chase.

Mueller is playing his own long-game trying to force President Trump to fire him,

Which is why Sessions should do it. He should unrecuse himself just for that purpose, especially since the opinions came out that said that DOJ ethics rules did not require him to recuse himself in the first place. That was a scam played on him.
