Trump: I Don’t Want To Spend Trillions In The Middle East, I’d Rather Fix Roads Here
The Daily Caller ^ | 07/13/17 | Alex Pfeiffer

Posted on 07/16/2017 5:48:14 AM PDT by Enlightened1

President Donald Trump continued his non-interventionist rhetoric from the campaign trail in an interview that aired Thursday on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

“We have to rebuild our country. Our roads, our bridges, our tunnels, our schools,” Trump told Pat Robertson. “We will have in another few months, have spent $7 trillion in the Middle East. Seven Trillion.”

This number President Trump is using falls in line with the high end of expenditure studies. A Brown University study said: “By 2053, interest costs will be at least $7.9 trillion unless the U.S. changes the way it pays for the wars.”

Trump went on to say: “And then if you want to spend two dollars on building a school in Iowa, or in Pennsylvania, or in Florida, they don’t want to give you the money.”

“How ridiculous is this?,” Trump added. He said that the U.S. got “nothing” from all of its engagement in the Middle East. The U.S. has toppled the governments of Afghanistan, Libya, and Iraq in the past 16 years.

The Taliban is now resurgent in Afghanistan, Iraq is fending off ISIS, and Libya has become a haven for radical Islamic terrorists.

“The Middle East is a mess,” Trump said. He added that he is there for only “one reason,” and that is to “get rid of the terrorists.” This implies that Trump is not going to engage in the nation building of past administrations.

“We’re almost there. We have really made headway,” Trump commented about this fight against terror. Mosul, the large Iraqi city where the Islamic State declared its caliphate, was liberated from ISIS control on Monday.

I’m sorry, Mr President, but the federal government doesn’t build schools in Iowa or Pennsylvania. But at least your heart is in the right place.

“We will have in another few months, have spent $7 trillion in the Middle East. Seven Trillion.”

Stupidity beyond human comprehension. And “W” lectures Trump on how to think and manage.

Absolutely.

Redirect the trillions wasted on senseless and endless wars and modernize our own infrastructure.

But the problem with schools has little to do with brick and mortar. Get rid of the PC indoctrination and Communist Core FIRST. Then, and only then, will fresh concrete and steel make a difference.

the problem with schools has little to do with brick and mortar.

But it has an awful lot to do with our best minds working at hedge funds that invest in companies that hold consulting firms inside the DC Beltway [actually the bloat is spilling over outside the beltway and we really need a new beltway in DC further out] to rake off fees from DOD and DHS to skim off the top of all the money that we are spending on "the middle east."

You will discover that a lot of it never leaves DC and far less leaves the shores of the US.

So yeah, DC crony capitalism and lousy schools are connected.

Prefer to have govt employees families on the front line(s) instead?). What complaint would they have if it’s *THAT* important to ‘National security’ (or whatever else BS excuse they wish to promote).

No exemptions (college or connected), straight to the worst of the action. They can throw The People into the meat-grinder, theirs should be shoulder-to-shoulder as well.

Maybe these globalist warmongers in Washington are finally willing to admit something that many of us here on FreeRepublic have know for two years:

Donald Trump -- with no political background at all -- won the GOP nomination over a field of 16 Republican candidates, and the general election over a permanent D.C. fixture like Hillary Clinton, because a lot of Americans are sick and tired of the very sh!t Trump describes right here in these comments.

Like about 62+ million of us, the Dumb Deplorable Colluders, voted and colluded for Trump to be our president, to stop BS like the Trillions of $’s and American Blood/Bodies wasted in the middle east.

Get out of Syria then

Leave it to Russia and France. They have many reasons to want it to be peaceful. All the US has is corporate greed benefitting from the chaos continuing until they seize control of the resources.

I was with Trump since 2015, when he first walked down the escalator. I forced myself to get involved in politics in a major way for the first time in my long life. I worked the voters and manned the precincts the day of his election. But if Trump hasn’t gotten us the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan, which he can do literally overnight as CoC (and builds the damn wall), then it doesn’t matter if he’s re-elected. I will just say a prayer for the late, great US of A and be done with it all. It will be truly over.

Even if he does all of that, and gets relected, the RNC and DNC will make sure we never get a chance to vote for another outsider. IMHO, we’re already finished. The last 20 years have been, to quote a movie line, “A sad and somber funeral, with the body still breathing”.

It’s not the business of the Federal Government to build roads.
Don’t send it to the Middle East.
Don’t spend it on pork.
Don’t have it in the first place.
Don’t steal it from the citizens.
