A Hawaii judge late Thursday ordered a nationwide loosening of President Donald Trump’s temporary ban on U.S. entry for some travelers from six Muslim-majority countries, ruling the administration’s strict approach contradicted a recent Supreme Court ruling.

I guess lower court judges can now over rule Supreme Court Rulings. I can see Hawaii's concern with this as they probably have 2 or 3 "refugees" residing there.

If I had my way we would send about 10,000 Somali refugees to Hawaii and set up the camp on the street where that judge lives. Throw in a couple thousand Afghanistan too

Time to pull an Andrew Jackson.

Ignore the ruling, don't even comment on it and apply the LAW as they see fit.

The Trump administration should simply argue that the Supreme Court’s order is in effect and it will not recognize any lower court’s ruling that alters or attempts to interpret the Supreme Court’s ruling. If the Supreme Court should modify or overturn the executive order, then the Administration will fully respect that ruling. However, as is customary with our judicial system, ALL lower court rulings now or in the future as concerns this PENDING case before the Supreme Court are stayed. PERIOD, drop the mic.

-- I guess lower court judges can now over rule Supreme Court Rulings. --

They are interpreting the SCOTUS injunction againhst the administration. Justice Thomas was precient. He predicted this would happen.

DoJ is appealing to BOTH the 9th Circuit and directly to SCOTUS.

Trump to ask Supreme Court to block travel ban ruling | Reuters

Sessions said in a statement that the administration would "reluctantly return directly to the Supreme Court" ...

The conservative-leaning Supreme Court is not currently in session, but the justices can handle emergency requests. The administration's application could be directed either to Justice Anthony Kennedy, who has responsibility for emergency requests from western states, or to the nine justices as a whole. If the court as a whole is asked to weigh in, five votes are needed to grant such a request.

Separately, the Justice Department filed papers in Hawaii federal court saying it would appeal Watson's ruling to the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. That would give the government a second route to the Supreme Court.

The last time a judge countermanded an opinion of the Supreme Court, he was removed from the bench (Roy Moore.)

Nothing is ever settled until it is settled the way liberals want it settled.

The only way all of this ends, barring a massive Great Awakening across the nation, is political divorce, either amicably or by civil war.

Remove Hawaii AG Doug Chin

https://www.change.org/p/the-sword-and-shield-of-hawaii-remove-hawaii-ag-doug-chin/w

Some folks signing this petition are confused . The entire ‘resistance’ project ; defying the so-called travel ban , is being launched and pursued by Hawaii Attorney General Douglas S. Chin . A Liberal lawyer transplant to Hawaii from Seattle WA . He is being aided and abetted by Obama appointed Federal District Judge Derrick ‘ Coconut’ Watson .

This petition goes to the root of the matter and asks Hawaii Governor David Ige to remove and replace AG Doug Chin , from which all the lawfare agitation is originating.

Please sign this petition and make pertinent commentary .

Mahalo !

I would be curious to see the judge’s telephone and/or visitor log book to see who has been—gee I dunno, what’s the word ... colluding with him. This looks like straight politics.
Let’s give Puerto Rico Hawaii’s star and see if they can do any better with it.

Agree. The progs are faint with anticipation of an impeachment. Let’s give them a reason, and let’s hash it out as to who is responsible for immigration and national defense, the courts or Congress and the President.

Why does a single circuit-court judge have the power to nullify a federal law, or EO? Shouldn’t the judge’s ruling be limited to the specific case of the claimant?
