Amazing what the private sector can do when it’s not run by bumbling government fools. But as soon as the company starts showing a nice profit look for the government to want to nationalize it again.
Worldwide consumption of oil is about 100 million barrels a day, so that find is good for 10 days. Just a perspective...

Gulf of Mexico crude is usually free-flowing and refines with less effort.
Both are overshadowed by some shale deposits, which yield hydrocarbons of very low molecular weight by comparison that basically only need distillation and some chemical cleanup (in addition to the natural gas fraction).
I was looking at it from the standpoint that they are bringing in outsiders, breaking the stranglehold grip of PEMEX.
But Mexico could have brought in the geniuses from Venuzuela.

And that’s fine and I’m glad they did that, but the headline makes it sound like it’s a huge find.
