Peter W. Smith, GOP operative who sought Clinton's emails from Russian hackers, committed suicide...

A Republican donor and operative from Chicago's North Shore who said he had tried to obtain Hillary Clinton's missing emails from Russian hackers killed himself in a Minnesota hotel room days after talking to The Wall Street Journal about his efforts, public records show.

In a room at a Rochester hotel used almost exclusively by Mayo Clinic patients and relatives, Peter W. Smith, 81, left a carefully prepared file of documents, which includes a statement police called a suicide note in which he said he was in ill health and a life insurance policy was expiring.

Days earlier, the financier from suburban Lake Forest gave an interview to the Journal about his quest, and it published stories about his efforts beginning in late June. The Journal also reported it had seen emails written by Smith showing his team considered retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, then a top adviser to Republican Donald Trump's campaign, as an ally. Flynn briefly was President Trump's national security adviser and resigned after it was determined he had failed to disclose contacts with Russia.

What percent of policies or companies do that?
I thought there had been attempts of some people to “disguise” a suicide as a car accident or similar, because the policy would not pay out?
And I thought insurance companies investigate before a large payout?

Insurance policy expiring so he committed suicide? Life insurance doesn’t pay for suicides. He knew that.

Who offed him and why?

Just a typical case. Beat himself to death with a hammer, or something similar. My worries are for the “meticulously prepared” files. Did the “assistants” pilfer the really juicy stuff?

To me the fact the words, “No foul play whatsoever” is in this “suicide note” makes this whole thing an obvious plant.

Along with the email chain from that Goldstone guy in which he so carefully mentions “Russian Royal Council” and “High Russian Government Officials” is, to me is all so incredibly phony not to mention really, REALLY amateurish.

I wonder when it’s going to sink in that NOTHING we hear can be believed.

Even if we are on FR, or watching Hannnity, we are discussing “stories” that were spoon fed to us by the MSM.

We can put a counter spin on it and question the objectivity of the writer, or doubt the motive of the sources, but we should be doubting more than that.

We should be doubting everything - we should be doubting that the sources were who the MSM says they were, or that there even were sources. Why should we believe anything we hear, except perhaps from Trump’s own tweets, or interviews we see live and uncut?

I think it hasn’t really sunk in how utterly lacking we are in a free press. The MSM no longer gives a ‘Rat’s ass about their sacred role as a free press.

If the Drafters of the Constitution structured the Republic to be self-governing - of the people, by the people and for the people - what did they expect the free press to be? They expected the press to Be the people! The eyes, ears and voice of the people.

But they are not. 94% of the MSM are openly Democrat partisans, who support a Democrat platform that is essentially hostile to the concept of a self-governing Republic. They believe the government knows better than and should have authority over the individual.

Why then would the Democrats in the legislature or the Democrats in the MSM represent the people, and serve as a watchdog to protect from an over-reaching government? They believe the government should be all powerful.

We need to reject the news entirely - not just question the “spin” - dismiss it all. Dismiss the report as entirely fabricated, dismiss the sources as entirely fictional.

Unless we see the actual interview in its entirety, un cut, un-edited, in its original context, and un-filtered by or “fact checked” by the MSM, just say no.

Insurance policies do not cover suicide, fishy. If he killd himself to leave money after death and before his policy expired that aint happening

All the companies I know of do it.

There’s a two year clause though, which doesn’t start until you get policy in your hand.

Yeats ago a man had it planned out and committed suicide two years from his sign up date, and he was two days early. No payout. Stupid on so many levels.

I am unaware of any company which doesn’t pay for suicides. The idea being that people don’t pre plan those things, and if you’re currently suicidal, that’s why they have the two year clause.
