I miss the old days, when Republicans stood for repealing Obamacare. Republicans across the country and every member of my caucus campaigned on repeal often declaring they would tear out Obamacare root and branch! What happened?
Now too many Republicans are falling all over themselves to stuff hundreds of billions of taxpayers dollars into a bill that doesnt repeal Obamacare and feeds Big Insurance a huge bailout.
Obamacare regulations? Still here. Taxes? Many still in place, totaling hundreds of billions of dollars.
Insurance company bailouts? Those, too. Remember when Republicans complained about Obamacares risk corridors? Remember when we called the corridors nothing more than insurance company bailouts? I remember when one prominent GOP candidate during a presidential debate explicitly called out the Obamacare risk corridors as a bailout to insurance companies. Does anyone else?
Now, the Senate GOP plan being put forward is chock full of insurance bailout money to the tune of nearly $200 billion. Republicans, present company excluded, now support the idea of lowering your insurance premium by giving a subsidy to the insurance company.
Remarkable. If the GOP now supports an insurance stabilization fund to lower insurance prices, maybe they now support a New Car stabilization fund to lower the price of cars. Or maybe the GOP would support an iPhone stabilization fund to lower the price of phones.
The possibilities are limitless once you accept that the federal government should subsidize prices. I remember when Republicans favored the free choice of the marketplace.
The Senate Obamacare bill does not repeal Obamacare. I want to repeat that so everyone realizes why Ill vote no as it stands now:
The Senate Obamacare bill does not repeal Obamacare. Not even close.
In fact, the Senate GOP bill codifies and likely expands many aspects of Obamacare.

“I miss the old days, when Republicans stood for repealing Obamacare”
**********
Republicans have never really stood for anything other than their own re-election. It is a hollow party devoid of convictions, principles or purpose.
Repeal or face voters rath in the mid-terms
Second, your tagline is gone.
If true, it will be very interesting to see how the Republicans extend their Senate majority in 2018.
Didn’t the Dems add something to Obamacare so the President can change it anytime he wants
pick one or two of the RINOs and either get them out in a primary or vote for the democrat. Make it known that they are gone either way. Because at least with a democrat we now the enemy is in front of us. The old Tea Party voter lists are still available and need to start the ball rolling now in order to get these clowns moving.
Just make a list of the Senators and start the ball rolling. Either they do what they told us or they are OUT. Just find the weakest ones in the most contentious states and get them OUT.
Is he reacting to being left out of the group working on the final version?? A version to be released tomorrow and voted on next week after debate.
If Paul is telling the GOP to commit suicide, I am with him. We need a new political party.
“Repeal or face voters wrath in the mid-terms”
I wish that were true. The congressmen don’t seem to think so.
What we need is a crisis that convinces voters that spending and borrowing by government must be reduced.
The Republicans never had a bill to over turn bamicare...they said they did, all for the people to re elect them...Republicans were not expecting for President Trump to win, why would he? They knew ‘the old hag’ would win and they could sit back for another 4 years and fill their pockets with OUR money...(bamicare is a tax bill not a healthcare bill)...
So when President Trump won, and started with the bamicare to repeal and replace it, there wasn’t any...the lobbyists that wrote the bamicare bill didn’t know what to do, they can’t go and repeal and replace it, the people we re elected can’t write a bill, they don’t do that...so here we are: being lied to again...lied to get votes again, and now they are scrabbling to do something, anything, and we all know it, so now let bamicare tax bill burn in flames, let people go without insurance, not being able to buy insurance because the companies are on the gravy train also, then and only then will the Congress get enough spine to do something to get us health care...
President Trump wants healthcare OUT OF THE GOVERNMENT and back to the people the way it used to be...the Swamp doesn’t want that, it will take away money in their pockets...
We the people ran this election and since Congress isn’t doing anything on so many fronts, it’s time We the people step up and get it done and back Our President...
‘LET BAMICARE BURN TO THE GROUND’!!!
What does that mean? — Is the personal and employer mandate still in place?
The whole thing collapses if you don’t force people to buy insurance or have massive tax. One and the same according to the Supreme Court.
Taglines apparently don’t show on post#1.
Can’t you name names. Those up in 18’ need to be pointed out.
I’m done with all republicans in both the Senate and House. Pure crap and the most ignorant jackasses in Washington.
Yes, that’s my understanding. The Obamacare legislation, which itself is thousands of pages long, is supported by tens of thousands of pages of regulations. And those regulations are largely determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
So the various regulations put in place by Obama’s Sec. of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, and her replacement, forget who that was, can be simply repealed and replaced by Trump’s Sec, Dr. Tom Price.
If we really don’t have the votes to repeal Obamacare, then the next best would be for Dr. Price to go ahead and rescind the more onerous parts of it.
The Big Insurance lobby has these weasels firmly in their pocket.
